I really liked his design and the way he was animated. Also his expressions (Don Bluth animation was always pretty good with that).
I like that he seems to have some slight bags under his eyes, could be stress, given his conman lifestyle. I imagine you'd always have to be looking over your shoulder in that line of work. He also looks pretty shady but later on, when he started growing soft, he just started looking tired. He didn't want the money anymore, just Anastasia

I read somewhere that they didn't want to make Dimitri so obviously cute, so they added that bump on his nose.

(Haven't seen the film *yet*.) Did they actually explain what the Russian revolution and the October revolution was about, the difference between the Mensheviks and Bolsheviks and so on? Pretty heavy stuff for kids.
I felt sad when I heard on radio news one or two weeks ago that archaeologists have recently found the remains of all the Romanovs. So in real life, Anastasia couldn't have survived.

(you MUST have to see this film!!!) No the film is the story of Anya, a girl whithout mother and father in an orphange, and she want to find them. She is of course Anastasia, but she doesn't remember this. She goes in St Petersburg and meets Dimitri, a swindler who seek a lookalike of Anastasia for money ^^
There is also some things of the revolution and Bolchevik but not a lot. It's a beautiful film, yes it's for children and there is some things hard, but just beautiful!!
