Description

Some concepty things for an adult!Adrienette headcanon.

Adrien becomes a physics professor. He’s a student favorite and makes tons of terrible science puns during lecture. Most of the students have noticed that he has a strange affinity for cats…and insects, for some reason.

He started wearing glasses somewhere around college…whether it’s genetics, bad luck, or adopting some catlike attributes (fun fact: cats are farsighted! They can’t see clearly within ~6in of their face), I’ll leave that up to y'all.

He DEFINITELY brags about his wife during the good ol’ first-day-of-class introductions. And during the rest of the year really.

His son Hugo  occasionally comes in to help with demonstrations. He loves it. (Nerd.)

I don’t have many details about Marinette since I know diddly squat about the fashion industry, but YEAH. She does fashion stuff. I wasn’t sure at first what to do with her hair…the pigtails of course don’t look very adult-ish, so probably not gonna do that, and while I’m aware of Astruc’s concepts of adult!Ladybug with the boy-short hair, it just doesn’t really look like Marinette anymore to me? Idk. So I experimented a bit and this is what I came up with. -shrug-

You wouldn't be the first to take child/teen characters and transplant as much of their looks as possible onto their adult selves. Case in point: there is a live-action fan trailer for a Magic School Bus movie where the now young adult Frizz Kids must come together to save Miss Frizzle from hell (yes really; my theory, and plot device if I write that kind of fanfic, is that she made arrangements to go there temporarily so the rescue mission could bring them back together and since there's a scene in the trailer where Arnold calls Miss Frizzle "the woman who ruined my life" to which Ralphie pins him to a wall by the throat while the other kids panic behind them, they need it) and everyone has their canon outfits sized up for the new bodies; it actually works quite well.

In my opinion I think its great to keep her hair long still and not cut it short because I think it gives her more of an older age because I know mom's usually either have there hair tied up, braided, or cut to the shoudlers

I find it varies depending on the mom in question. Mine has short hair because it's practical as do both her sister-in-laws that have children and her sister-in-law who's kept Golden Retrievers and Irish Setters while my aunt whose "kids" are cats and a terrier mix has a long braid.

Well, the thing about Adrien and Marinette's civilian forms is that they're designed to be like yin and yang, complementing the whole creation/destruction, good luck/bad luck thing; Marinette with a white shirt and black (well, dark gray) sweater and Adrien with a black shirt and white sweater. If you wanted to you could even argue that their pants are opposites as well, Marinette's being traditionally feminine pink and Adrien's traditionally masculine blue.

It's a pretty clever design choice that fits their characters and relationship, so I wanted to preserve it as much as I could.

You did a good job with that. Though I imagine she wears like a bun or something of that nature while on business, especially if she runs the Agreste business like many fans assume she will.
