Description Tardar Sauce became my art project for a day, and she wasn't too happy about it!

The overarching assignment in my art class this semester has been to put together a portfolio for the Scholastic art competition. Scholastic portfolios consist of eight pieces with a commonality running through them. The commonality can be anything from color to medium to style to theme, etc. For me the commonality was style, but towards the end of my portfolio the pieces began to have similar themes, such as this , this , and this . Most of my portfolio pieces can be found in my gallery, but there's still one or two that I have yet to post.

Anywho, I recently finished the last piece in my portfolio, and because of that, I don't really have any assignments left to work on in class. Soooo I decided to play around with color, and I figured it might be fun to do it in my fancy watercolor crayons (more formally known as "water-soluble wax pastels") as I hadn't used them in a while. This is the first piece I did.

After completing Tardar Sauce, I wanted to do some more colorful kitties, so I looked up some pictures. I found a ton of adorable cat-and-kitten shots, so I think I'll occupy myself with a colorful mini-series of mommy kitties and their kittens. I have one already completed which I'd love to upload now and one about 98% completed, but I haven't taken photos yet and it's too dark to take them now; the quality would be horrible. Guess I'll just post 'em tomorrow.
