I think it turned out pretty good for my first try at coffee art!! This was sooo much fun guys! I recommend you try it. Coffee is actually easier to paint than with watercolor because there is no binding agent such as oxgall in watercolor. You can control it pretty well with water and dabbing a napkin if you need to erase or make it lighter!I got a great head start with 's tutorial here: [link]

I learned so much with this. Just wait for the coffee to dry and then add another layer to make it darker.
It's not EXACTLY like grumpy cat b/c I still need to learn how to control the brush with water better, but I like how it spread in the end. Next time I'll work more with shading. I'm doing another Grumpy Cat coffee picture for my local cafe since several requested it xD So I'll get better hopefully!! It also felt great to get something traditional done.
And I'm sorry, I won't be around my scanner for a while

This time I actually did, and it was enjoyable. xD I ordered an esspresso shot b/c that's the darkest it can go. Just use water to lighten up the area you're painting on. I didn't need much. But the tutorial I linked in the description said she just used instant coffee, and she doesn't drink coffee either

i've always wondered what it would look like if i painted with melted candle wax :0 but im pretty sure itd dry up before i even got it on paper xP still a cool thought imo

i looked it up on youtube and theres nothing on it.
i just thought it's be interesting and different :0
the only problem is it dries so fast, so you'd probably have to pour it instead of use a brush.
i am going to experiment with this and get back to you xD

I tried once, but I don't have the patience to let it dry and paint another layer... The effect is amazing though, it looks so rustic!

Thank you! Maybe you can do work on something else while it dries? It usually only takes 10 minutes or less, but if there's too much water or coffee on the brush it takes longer to dry. I usually wipe or dab my brush on a napkin a little bit
