YAY, my Copic refill in for the "sand" color came yesterday, so I can color drawings Chi again! 8D

Still working on unique character design with these guys, trying to pull away from my semi-realistic cartoon style in favor of more exaggerated and individualized builds. I'll still be using my "semi-realistic" style, of course, just not so much for this kind of thing. More for requests/commissions, fanart, that stuff.

By the way, Saimur got a slight coat re-design. It's the same general idea, just pulled off differently.

Whoohoo.

(c) me.

I'm liking the character design so far! Here is a little tip that makes things look a lot more appealing and clever. A general rule when creating a style and characters is to follow the "straights against curves" rule. Having lines stay parallel or curve-on curve generally come off as boring and typical. Applying variety to your characters makes things a lot more interesting and dynamic.

Thank you, and thank you for the tip! But, if I may ask, could you post an example of the "straight against curves" rule? I think I know what you're saying, but I'm not entirely sure.

Again, thanks!

Yeah, of course! Sorry, examples would have been nice XD
It would be easier to do with my tablet, but thats broken so I'll have to make do of examples only

Here are a couple of drawings that do a good job of using straights and curves to give appeal and interest to their characters.
