I spent more hours on this one than I'd like to admit. ^^Finished it in september 2005. Made in photoshop CS.

This just makes me have a flashback to the movie Legend...The softness of the light and the darkness of the hunter figure....totally the same in the movie. Very wonderful job. It doesn't matter how long it took you, this looks fabulous.

This is such a beautifuly painting. The unicorns look so magical and the manes are so well done. And not to mention the water! You are too talented.

i don't really agree with people who submit deviations larger than 1000 pixels but i have to admit that in this case it's exactly the size that gives it a special feel,the way you scroll down and reveal the characters in the drawing one by one.it's almost like seeing a scene in a movie

In the early stages of the painting, the hunter actually had an arrow ready to shoot, but I removed it.
Either way, the scenario is up to the viewer to decide. I thought of it as if he was simply standing there, stunned by the view of two unicorns appearing in front of him.

The upper bit seems a bit flat but the legs seem really well rendered.

The only thing I dislike about this picture is the placement of the horn on the unicorn to the left; it seems a bit too far down the nosebridge, especially compared to his companion.

I wouldn't say spending undue amounts of time on a piece is a bad or embarrassing thing. Good artwork takes time, and there's no shame in that.
