Thanks! Yep I had a real big problem with the original portrait. =/
You gallery was fun to watch! BG fanart is scarce here at DA.

That's why I always try to make a lot of it. Once I have a brief lapse in homework, I need to upload all my new arts

thank you! Coran is a lovely character. Oh, how I laughed at the baby-sitting quest, when Coran had to look after one of his bastard child for a week. That was great fun.
hey, you don't happen to know how to include my own portrait for the BG NPC's? Btw, are you playing BG1 with the tutu-mod? If not, I warmly recommend it.

okay, well I favour BG2 as well. Irenicus is one of the visual game's history's coolest villians. ^^
Bg1 is a bit tricky to play when you're used to the sequel, but I reccomend you try on BG1 using the Tutu mod. It converts whole BG1 (with expansion) to the BG2 engine. This includes all rules, spells ect.
The downside is that if you wanna mod BGtutu you have to use Tutu-mods *only*. If you install Tutu on top of other BG1 mods, the game will crash when you leas expect it. =/

Some really great work. Congrats. Coran *is* wayy too ugly to be the ladies' man after all. You can imagine the writers @ Bioware were being kinda sarcastic.
Have you found out how to replace the original portrait with this one? If not, let me know and I'll post here a quick tutorial. It's easier than it seems.
Congrats again.

I'd appreciate that thanks!
Problem is, Iβm using the BG1 tutu mod. And Iβm not sure Iβm even able to replace portraitsβ¦ but please tell me anyways. It might work. ^^

I'm sorry, I accidentally hit the send button and I'm not sure of how to edit or erase the comment above. I'm kinda new to DA... heh
Anyway, there's this folder in your Tutu installation directory called OVERRIDE. If you want to replace any portrait in game, all you have to do is place the version of the portrait you want to use in that folder, and the game engine will use that one instead of the original, without replacing or corrupting any files in your game.
1) Save two BMP (24-bit) copies of your portrait. One should be 110 width x 170 height and it should be named _ORANL.bmp. The small one is 38x60, name it _ORANS.bmp.
2) Copy those files into the OVERRIDE folder that's inside your Tutu installation folder.
3) Ta-da, load your game and Coran's portrait will be replaced. If he's already in your party, you should see the changes immediatly.
Have fun, hope that works and congrats again for the great image. Take care

wicked colouring. youve really brought out his attitude in this. hmmm i dunno about BG1 but in 2 there was an option in the portrait seleciton for that. handy information isnt it?

thats weird. might be your version but its there on mine

nattzvart In reply to ElSkanko [2006-09-19 07:32:56 +0000 UTC]
But I'm using the Tutu converter to play BG1 through BG2 enginge, that's probably why the option isn't there. ^^ Perhaps I should have mentioned this when I wrote the request.

Thanks, Hades! I've altered it a little bit more now to bring out the color balance and the contrast a bit more. ^^
I've totally got a sore spot for all kinds of "scoundrel" characters I'm afraid...

Deviant art turned my directions into smilies. Dubba-u-tee-eff, man. Anyway, there should be a Portraits folder under your BG 1 folder where you stick the custom portraits.

Yeah, but you cant change the NPC's portrait from there... I think. Or can you? I thought that directory was onlu ment for additional PC portraits. (?)
