Description

Hi, I found this one today while out... Enjoy!

kinda pressed for time, will give full description and name later.

Hi, I'm back.... this is a Hyles Gallii, the Bedstraw Hawk Moth or Gallium Sphinx Moth. I found it along the dirt path between fields,in some low brush.

This is the 2nd pic I got of it...when I went to move some leaves out of the way for a better  first pic, it flew a very short distance and landed here on the forest floor. I'm really happy it did that, as now I have a pic of it's wings unfolded, showing all the bright color patterns it displays in flight...

Sphinx are awesome. It is pretty funny how hummingbirds have made a massive evolutionary loop to end at the same place as them.

Hi, Yeah it is...

They found a food source that other birds weren't using, and made the change to exploit that food..nature is pretty cool in doing that.
