It said it was taken for population control, so yes it was killed. Read the description.Β

This is absolutely gorgeous and I'm heartbroken that it's sold. I would have bought it, but I'm about 4 years too late. :C

Agreed a lot most people don't look at it that way I say ever part of the animal is useful in its own wayΒ

So beautiful. I was wondering how often you get such amazing pelts. And how often new ones go on sale/for how much. I've been looking for a mask like this for ages!Β
I adore it!

Not in a condescending or judgemental sort of way, but how on Earth do you put that on? I think I'd have a few issues with literally seeing through a wolf's eyes, I might just be a pussy, but god that's a tad... I don't know... Iffy?
π: 0 β©: 1
NaturePunk In reply to Dain-Siegfried [2013-06-10 17:33:46 +0000 UTC]
Why would it be "iffy"? It's just a piece of leather with fur on it. People wear leather all the time.

Dain-Siegfried In reply to NaturePunk [2013-06-10 23:15:06 +0000 UTC]
I suppose you're right, but you have to see it from the perspective of someone's who closest experience to animal pelts was roadkill.
π: 0 β©: 1
NaturePunk In reply to Dain-Siegfried [2013-06-10 23:57:40 +0000 UTC]
I have a whole bunch of roadkill on my deck air-drying right now. There's nothing bad about it if you handle everything correctly. Your ancestors hunted and butchered all their own meat and made clothing from the hides without thinking it was gross for a moment; it was, and continues to be, a perfectly natural thing for people to do.
π: 0 β©: 1
Dain-Siegfried In reply to NaturePunk [2013-06-11 01:23:09 +0000 UTC]
I'm not saying it isn't natural, it just comes off as odd. That's all. Come on you must admit at three you probably weren't thinking about taking the skin off a pet cat or dog.
π: 0 β©: 1
NaturePunk In reply to Dain-Siegfried [2013-06-11 17:16:11 +0000 UTC]
at the age of three, no. But if you must know, there is a cat pelt salting in my tub at this very moment. I was blind to the ways of nature at three. I am not now.

I can't tell if you're being condescending and mean or sincere and understanding, frankly as this is the internet I'm inclined to assume the former.

I have a coyote skin. I tried wearing it as a hat to a party once, with a rabbit pelt pinned to the back, but it might be wiser to try and make a mask. Is there any particular technique to it?

NaturePunk In reply to DonnyLurch [2013-04-04 12:37:47 +0000 UTC]
Assuming the hide is workable, I can turn it into a headdress for you starting at $60.00.

For any of you wolfaboos out there making comments like "OMG THIS IS HORRIBLE!! BLAH BLAH IMA WOLF DKHCBDSKHFBSBKVDSDFDSFDSFSDMHBFSDH" please stop. People keep wolf pelts to respect the wolf because it is dead. I have never killed anything before, but if one day I go hunting or something and kill a wolf I would want to keep the pelt. How would you like it if I just threw the pelt away? Would that be better for you?

I always wanted one of these. I have fox skin and tail, but the face is all flat for some reason, and me and my dad are trying to make it shape into the shape we want. It defiantly won't be as awesome as yours! I dont know how you do it but this as like magic! i wish i were you

It is easy to see out of for me, because I made it to fit my face. I don't like seeing the masks that are made with overly-enlarged eye-holes cut out. They don't look natural.

this is to everyone that doesn't agree with this. this wolf was killed for food and population control NOT for sport or for "fun". I would agree with all of you that this is wrong if someone killed this for sport, but as nature punk said it wasn't. so all of you that are mad about this can go to hell

People, its called Taxidermy, people have been doing it FOREVER Nature punk already said that if you did'nt like you shouldent look. Also Nature said It was killed for population control, and that its meat/bones etc wear used, which is a good thing at least the animal was'nt shot and killed for the hell of it. People used to carve stories into bones and wood. So if you don't like Taxidery or such just go Fuck off and stop harrassing people who either do it for a living or a hobby, if you don't like it don't comment.
Nature punk- I apologize for this I'm just so tired of people saying shit like this about taxidermy.
