I had a lot of fun with this one. It feels like forever since my last personal piece. Painting the dappled light was a little difficult, but I think I pulled it off for the most part.It's just one of my random wolf characters.

I love your work. I've fallen in love with the characters. As a writer (I do have a few stories about wolves, one I hope to turn into a book) I always find it fascinating when I can draw a story out of a piece of art work, and your's is so expressive and beautiful that I could!

The background and lighting is just beautiful, even in the back forest I really like how you included the sunlight rays through the undergrowth, it seems like such a beautiful day. I love the little white dots in the close up sunlight, I feel like that really makes sunlight look good for some reason. Very handsome character design as well!

Thank you for such a lovely comment! I really appreciate it! I agree with you about the "little white dots" in the sunlight. Apparently sun rays / sun beams are only visible when there is lots of dust in the air. Hence maybe why it makes it look good? xD

Would you be willing to do a tutorial on grass? I know there are a lot out there, I'm just curious as to what technique you use. I haven't found a technique that works for me yet.

I would love to one day put out a few tutorials on several things. Maybe I'll add grass to my list. Basically what I do is I paint the bottom pretty flat, and then I add the texture of the grass at the end. The colours I use are on the yellow side of the color wheel. ^^

I really like how the lighting turned out! I love how the character's face just emerging in the light brings so much focus to it. And I'm a really big fan of interesting lighting under trees and forests in general.
