No one TAKES Itachi, dear, he is a character that many people have the ability to pair their character's with. NO one takes him, claims him or can even have him as their own besides Masashi Kishimoto.
I pair my OC with Itachi too, and I only hate certain pairs with him IE the ones who say "Itachi is mine back off" and the awful OCs[[Mary Sues, No backstory, Backstory that has them fall in love at first sight]]or just an ugly OC.
But still....

I mean ugly as in a terrible OC... Like yes, physically, but if the character is physically ugly with a good backstory, then that's fine. What I think the good OCs need is a good backstory. I would rather not see a physically ugly OC with Itachi, but it's the person's OC and they can do what they want with it. What I hate to see with Itachi or any other character for that matter is a poorly structured character as in a Mary-Sue or when the character's creator bends the CANON's personality to make it fit their OC and what-not. That's what I think is an ugly OC.
