Description Assalaamu alaikum [Peace be to you],

Ramadan is a period of fasting, reflection, devotion, generosity and sacrifice observed by Muslims around the world.
The word "Ramadan" comes from the Arabic root word for "parched thirst" and "sun-baked ground." It is expressive of the hunger and thirst felt by those who spend the month in fasting. As opposed to other holidays, when people often indulge, Ramadan is by nature a time of sacrifice.

Through fasting, a Muslim experiences hunger and thirst, and sympathizes with those in the world who have little to eat every day.
Through increased devotion, Muslims feel closer to their Creator, and recognize that everything we have in this life is a blessing from Him.
Through increased charity, Muslims develop feelings of generosity and good-will toward others.
Through self-control, a Muslim practices good manners, good speech, and good habits.
Through changing routines, Muslims have a chance to establish more healthy lifestyle habits -- particularly with regards to diet.
Through family and community gatherings, Muslims strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood, in their own communities and throughout the world.

Ramadan is a very special time for Muslims, but the feelings and lessons we experience should stay with us throughout the year. In the Qur'an, Muslims are commanded to fast so that they may "learn self-restraint" (Qur'an 2:183). This restraint and devotion is especially felt during Ramadan, but we all must strive to make the feelings and attitudes stay with us during our "normal" lives. That is the true goal and test of Ramadan.

May Allah accept our fasting, forgive our sins, and guide us all to the Straight Path. May Allah bless us all during Ramadan, and throughout the year, with His forgiveness, mercy, and peace, and bring us all closer to Him and to each other.

All you do is not eat during the day and eat at noon, if it was a real fast you wouldn't eat at all, anyways, apart from anecdotal evidence, is there any study on poeple that healed major health disorders?

Oops, I made quite a mess, sorry, that's what I meant to say, thank you, if you eat at sunset, then all you do is suspend your food intake until sunset, are you sure it really has all these excellent health benefits?

When you do it in regular basis, I believe it does have many health benefits.

Well, that's something else Islam has in common with Christianity is they both fast at certain times. I should fast sometimes too. Too many Americans are unhealthy. I did hear there were a lot of health benefits to fasting. Do Muslims tend to suffer from diseases like diabetes much? It does seem that people who fast are overall healthier.

Well humans are humans Im not really sure if most muslims suffer disbetes as much too but of course we can suffer health issues too. It also depends on what and the way you eat. Im Muslim btw.

Well, we'll eat before fajar(sunrise) and break it when the sun goes down. We won't die if we fast.

and also, god gave us the freedom to fast whenever we want to. but also commanded us to fast all ramadan (it's an arabian month, ramadan is expected to come this july)
prophet muhamemed (pbuh)recomnded us to fast mondays and thursdays.
arafat day and another day which i can't remember, sorry .

These sources don't seem sufficient to back up your points. The websites themselves do not cite any real studies done into the matter. Anyone can make a website and write stuff on it, real evidence requires rigour. It doesn't look like there's been any critical analysis of the facts here at all.

From the biological side... a common human can survive at least 1 month without food. That's also proven from a non-religious scientist.

People nowadays eat too much (and I'm not only talking about fat people). We eat more than we need.

first, this is not a scientific paper or thesis where I am required to provide evidence for every single point I state. the drawing space is limited and the description space is limited. I can't write a whole 100 lines evidence report here to make people bored.
second, my purpose is not to debate and convince people. I find information. I share what I find. you want to believe or not, it's up to you. you want to make a search to find proof or not is also up to you.

So you don't care if the image is misleading or inaccurate? You're giving the impression these claims are qualified medical advice, when you have no grounds to imply that. This isn't trivial, this is people's health we're talking about. If you want to go about this responsibly, you can either decide not to make claims you can't back up, or put a disclaimer that these statements have no supporting evidence. That'd assuming you're going for a responsible approach to this.

you know what's your problem? you like to argue simply for the sake of argument. I don't mind people disagreeing with me, but when someone disagrees simply to disagree and when it becomes a bother, this is not expressing opinion anymore.
as I said, if you want to look for evidence, be my guest and do it, benefit yourself and other people. but if you are only good at complaining and showing disagreement, I am afraid your comment is not a constructive critique to me.

my friend, Me not providing evidences that satisfies you doesn't mean I am misleading people. it simply means the information here needs further verification before being accepted or rejected.
if you want, you can write an article with the "true facts" about this issue in your own page and invite me to look at it. I believe this would be a better way to show your opinion in a beneficial way.

It's been scientifically proven that eating breakfast will help lower your weight.

So when a Muslim eats his breakfast on the day of fasting, (Early morning), this would help them lose weight, because their body burns this fuel for energy throughout the day. By the end of the day, the body is exhausted and needs more food to continue when the person sleeps, and that's when the Muslim eats again, (at the evening-night time, after Maghrib).

Fasting is also a form of self-control and helps stimulate your mind, and make you a nicer person in the end.

I don't have to deny anything. None of anything spouted in this comic is even remotely medically true.
Matter of fact I'm pretty sure:
1.) not replenishing your body's energy supply will slow healing and straving cause hallucinations
2.) Not eating actually cause you to gain weight when you do resume.
3.)If by waste you mean your body fat and muscle, sure.
4.)Will not improve skin tone, because you have no nutreiants to promote skin vitality.
5.)Actually decreases cell growth and forces the body into it's reverse storage.
6.) weakens the immune system.
7.) actually make you more irratable.
8.) Again, hallucinations are not a sign of solid mental health.
9.) Again will make you more irritable and irrational.

then again what do I know, I just have medical professionals in the family.

I have been fasting for years. As have my friends and family. None of those things ever happened to us. I'm more irritable and irrational on my period than when I am fasting. We don't hallucinate. Listing the same reasons multiple times...really?

See, the problem with your argument is you're over thinking the terms. Sort of like when you hear a scientist use the word "sizeable" and "Massive."

I'm not talking you want to randomly stab people irrational. I'm talking about you start thinking with your stomach a little more, you're thinking how much longer till you can eat in the back of your head. The longer you go, the more effect you'll get.
Think of it like sleep deprevation.
right now I'm running 20 hours since I last slept. I'm not asleep at the wheel, nor am I passing out when I get comfortable, but I know "hey, I need to sleep." and my body is starting to have small muscle spasms. (noticable, but they don't affect you in any real way.)

The problem I had was promoting things that have never been proven to occur with withholding. The only medic benifit I've seen from fasting is the healing of digestive tract.
