Description Assalaamu alaikum [Peace be to you],

Many people think that the God is far away. that he is too holy for us to reach or that it is impossible for us humans to reach him. in Islam, the God himself reaches to us. not by becoming a man or something. but simply by his divine power and through his great love and mercy.

the God Almighty says in the Qur'an:
وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ ۖ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ ۖ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا لِي وَلْيُؤْمِنُوا بِي لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُونَ
"And when My servants* ask you (O Mohammed) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed Near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor). So let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may be led aright"

translation of verse 2:186
The above verse was revealed as an answer to a question addressed to the Prophet -peace and blessings be upon him- by some of his Companions -may the God be pleased with them-. They asked him: "Oh Messenger of Allah! Is our Lord near to us, so we can secretly talk to Him [this is called munaajaat, in Arabic], or He is far, so we should call upon Him [loudly]?" Thereupon the God Almighty revealed this verse (translation of the meanings): "And when My slaves ask you (O Mohammed) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge) "

This is because Allah is The Watcher, The Witness Who knows what is in the hearts [the secret] and that which is even more hidden; He knows the treacherous (look) of the eyes and whatever the hearts conceals. Allah is Near to whoever supplicates him and immediately responds as He says "I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me".

Allah is Near to His servants through the following two manners:
- His knowledge encompasses all His creatures.
- He is near to those who worship and supplicate him and responds to their supplications by answering and granting them support and success.
When a person sincerely invokes the God asking for lawful things and there is nothing preventing answering his supplication (such as having unlawful source of livelihood and the like), Allah has verily promised to respond to his supplication. This is especially when a supplicant adheres to the means necessary for answering the supplication which are as follows:
- Obeying the commands of the God.
- Abandoning His Prohibitions.
- The firm convection that the God responds to our supplications.
That's why Allah says in the above verse (translation of the meanings): "So let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may be led aright". Meaning, whoever sincerely supplicates Allah will surly be led to faith, the straight path and be distant from delusion.

I hope this was beneficial.

* Servants/slaves:
Who are these servants?
Me, You, we, they... all of us and all of God's creation are his slaves and servants and he is our Lord and master. but there are 2 kinds of servants: those who acknowledge their servitude to their God and those who deny it and disobey their Lord.

In The Drawing:
The Qur'anic verse is written in Thuluth script.

If I am right, it is from the God. If I am wrong, it is from myself.

Jazzaka Alahu Khayran Brother.
I love these verses, they keep reminding me that I am not alone, and I'll never be.
There is a nasheed by Native Deen called"I am near", it has almost the same message of this article.
The drawing is facinating. I love Arabic Penmanship, though I am not very good at it.
