Nbrazzola is right. The upward pentagram was a symbol of light. Since the goat was an old symbol of evil and lust against heaven, I guess you could say it represents the harmony and/or unity of light and darkness. However, the goat's head was likely intended to represent animal as opposed to man or divine.
