Description
EDIT: Fixed a lot of spelling and grammar mistakes! If you spot one or two, please tell me!
Laridae was created by Cyrinthia since June 2016, owned by ncSerran in July 2016
Laridae are an OPEN species with free-reign traits, meaning you are free to create your own and come up with your own traits!
The only rules are that you cannot sell your Laridae designs for profit, which includes money/paypal cash or Deviantart's points.
However, you are allowed to gift or trade designs in exchange for other non-money things (WTA/DTA, other designs, other species, or art)
Rules may be added or changed as I see fit!
Must-Have Traits
Hind-legs must have deer hooves to remind Laridae of their ancestry.
Forepaws must be mammal-like paws with claws (retractable or non-retractable is fine)
They must sport a horn or a set of horns.
Omnivore-type set of teeth with fangs that can inject venom.
Other Traits
They may have wings, but they can only glide with them. No matter how big their wingspan is, they cannot support the weight of a Laridae.
They may have manes of any length for either aesthetic purposes or to adapt to the temperatures of their environment.
They may collect feathers, leaves, seashells or other things they may find in the wild to accessorize themselves.
Forbidden Traits
No magical powers (elemental, super-powers, anything like that)
No 'modern' accessories (belts, guns, headphones) or knowledge of modern things. These things live in the wild and have the mindset of wild animals! If you can't find bacon, Wi-Fi or macarons in the wild, chances are they won't know what those things are!
You are only allowed to create an Alpha Doe design if you pass the try-outs for Herd Leader
How do fawn Laridae look like?
Sometimes they look like regular fawns with a mixture of their mother and father's color schemes or markings.
Sometimes they take up either mother or father's 'evolved' form to start out with, but are free to change their evolved form until the end of their Juvenile stage.
Is there a limit to what a Laridae can transform their upper body into?
No limit! Whether it's ponies, porcupines, falcons, tigers or hyenas, the possibilities are endless!
However, most Laridae would prefer finding a predatory animal to evolve into in order to increase their chances of survival.
These are an incredibly adaptive species and intelligent for feral animals, and surviving the outside is crucial to them.
However, they can only evolve into one creature at a time and if they stay that way for a certain period of time, the change is permanent.
Juvenile Laridae tend to transform into various kinds of creatures until they're satisfied with a form they're comfortable with.
What purpose are the horns for?
For aesthetic purposes and for fighting! Male Laridae like to duel with each other, especially during mating season to show who is the strongest and the fittest mate.
Alpha Does grow vines and flowers on them if they are chosen by the Goddess Jules to lead their herd.
Mating season? Will there be a breeding feature?
Yes! Every few months, a limited amount of Breeding Slots will be opened to members to create their own batch of newborn Laridae that are a combination of two existing designs!
These slots cost money, but they are allowed to keep the profits they earn.
Fertility Potions will be available in the future for those who can't wait to be Laridae Breeders.
Can I own/create an Alpha Doe/Laridae with flowers on their horns?
You may try-out for Alpha Does!
If you're able to gather the interest from five separate users to form a herd with you (So that's a total of six in a starting herd), you may note the group OR note me about for a test!
The test usually consists of asking for that list of members you got, a role-play sample and why you think your Laridae is fit to be Alpha Doe.
However, if you design an Alpha Doe Laridae without permission and without gathering interest first, it will not be considered official.
Attempting to role-play with a non-official Alpha Doe will get you a warning, or even black-listed.
