Some random doodle that I decided to color.I like mixing up different equipment and gear! xD
Same technique as the ACUPAT guy:
-The lineart was done with a 0.5mm mech pencil.
-Photoshop CS5 was used for tweaking the lineart (Levels and Grayscale), the flecktarn pattern and the base coloring.
-Shading and highlights were done with Paint Tool SAI.
First time I'm drawing a lightweight chest rig/harness. As a sniper, lighter gear means higher mobility, which is good for hit and run tactics or faster escape when spotted.
I was planning to give her a Blaser R93 Tactical, but I couldn't draw it for some reason...
Before I forget, this is my first try at making the German Flecktarn pattern.

Flecktarn is looking good. The pattern is a b*tch to color but practice oughta give you some idead on how to proceed properly when doing that camo pattern.

For some reason, it was pretty hard to distinguish the colors from the sample. Might do more flecktarn in the future.

Yeah the colors are always very tricky to substract. Most samples are pretty much photos of the febric that are still altered by enviroment light, shadows and the fabric's own texture. You may want to create a small jpg file with the basic colors of that and/or other patterns so you can easily extract the colors when ever you want to paint that or other camouflage patterns with the proper colors.

Well they have alot they can do most anything like the Men, just dont know why they cant be a Sniper, I asked my marine friend who is in servies now if they can be one just to make double sure and hope its a Yes,
like the career i want to go in the corps is
MP,K9, and MC Photogapher, and wanted to be a sniper just have to wait for a respond on that one,,,

Not sure, I was thinking about enlisting as a reservist for the Canadian Forces, but I would like to pursue an art career as an illustrator/graphic designer.
I still need to get myself better physically.

thats be cool being in the reservist in the Canadian Forces, thats what i'm going in (in the USMC Reserves) after active for 4 years,,, well if you want to have a career as in illustrator/graphic designer then go for it

what gear do the Canadians wear?

That's gonna be a long list.
-CG634 helmet, it's a french design equipped with a Canadian made suspension system. Mostly fitted with an elastic band around and a NVG mount.
-The shirt and trousers don't have a specific name but they will be replaced this year by the newer ICU, basically the American ACU in CADPAT.
-Tactical Vest with various fixed pouches, which makes it less modular than MOLLE
-A fragmentation vest is also worn under the tac-vest to protect against shrapnels and small arms.
-Black gore-Tex combat boots. But they will be replaced this year by the newer Temperate Combat boots, they are tan in color.
-There are also various eyewear, headsets/radio pouches, rucksacks, backpacks, holsters and extra magazine pouches.
Most of the gear is available in CADPAT TW (Woodland) or AR (Desert).

I know most of that stuff because of the extensive research I usually do before drawing.
Some people who met me for the first thought that I'm a active member of the CF until I told them. xD
