its far for hunting an home defense. not practical for everyday carry or a car gun/ too bulky too loud. but fun and accurate. Β

basicly, it's a hunting pistol, easier to carry than shotgun.
it was designed for hunting purpose, least effective for combat.
and those S&W 500s make this gun lose its coolness and gone forgotten.

The power of a cannon in the palm of your hand.Β Deadly, accurate, and kicks like a mule.Β Though, unlike that of a mule, the kick is worth it and feels powerful.Β XDΒ This is the ultimate handgun.Β Great job.

To each their own! X) I would have liked to have a classy 357 revolver instead, the DE is somewhat over glorified in fictional medias~ xP

They do have Deagles in .357; I plan to get dual Deagles and have spare kits to swap out for different calibers.

I've heard they actually shoot quite well. the should, with the price they fetch. I'll settle for my .44mag vaquero.

I will always remember the hilarious video of the woman firing the desert eagle and getting smacked in the face from the recoil. LOL.
Big expensive paperweight indeed, haha.

I have fired one of those in the .50 AE format. It kicks quite a bit, the magazine is low, it is huge and heavy but so fun! I have the micro desert eagle, it is a .380 acp pocket pistol that I am actually more afraid of shooting than the .50 AE. The 2 inch barrel and small grip make its small round kick as if it went off in your hand. I have a few pictures of it on my account.

Every time I see the DE I cant help but remember this glorious quote from "Snatch":
Bullet Tooth Tony: So, you are obviously the big dick. The men on the side of ya are your balls. Now there are two types of balls. There are big brave balls, and there are little mincey faggot balls.
Vinny: These are your last words, so make them a prayer.
Bullet Tooth Tony: Now, dicks have drive and clarity of vision, but they are not clever. They smell pussy and they want a piece of the action. And you thought you smelled some good old pussy, and have brought your two little mincey faggot balls along for a good old time. But you've got your parties muddled up. There's no pussy here, just a dose that'll make you wish you were born a woman. Like a prick, you are having second thoughts. You are shrinking, and your two little balls are shrinking with you. And the fact that you've got "Replica" written down the side of your guns...
[Zoom in on the side of Sol's gun, which indeed has "REPLICA" etched on the side; zoom out, as they sneak peeks at the sides of their guns]
Bullet Tooth Tony: And the fact that I've got "Desert Eagle point five O"...
[Withdraws his gun and puts it on the table]
Bullet Tooth Tony: Written down the side of mine...
[They look, zoom in on the side of his gun, which indeed has "DESERT EAGLE .50" etched on the side]
Bullet Tooth Tony: Should precipitate your balls into shrinking, along with your presence. Now... Fuck off!

I'd rather have a Smith & Wesson M&P. Those Italian wonders have a nasty habit of blowing their slides off into your face. Or getting gunked up and jamming because someone thought an open slide was a good idea. Or having the safety engage during drills. Or when you tap it or bump it. Or having a thicker grip then the M&P, but still carrying 4 less rounds.Β
Heck, I think I might actually take a desert eagle over a Beretta. It's giant, clunky, and carries a stupidly big round, but at least I know that it's going to be the round going out the barrel, not the slide coming back into my face.

Ugh... Desert Eagle... I'd rather go with the good old M1911A1. Parts are easy to find as well as the ammo for it's class. Also, not too shabby looking.

DE just follows the 'Rule of Cool' - "If it's awesome, it doesn't need to be practical".

WelderFace [2013-12-27 15:01:32 +0000 UTC]
Maybe it all depends on the calibre? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've seen videos of, and read that when it's chambered for .357mag, the Desert Eagle is apparently quite controllable, due to it's gas operation and high weight (It's still GIGANTIC though, regardless of it's chambering. All the variants use the same frame)
The .50AE is absolutely ridiculous though.

WelderFace In reply to NDTwoFives [2013-12-27 16:39:48 +0000 UTC]
But you'd lose out on ammunition capacity~ A Desert Eagle in .357 has a nine round mag, whereas the majority of .357 revolvers only have a six (or even five, in some cases) round cylinder. They're, mostly, just as hefty as a DA too! XD
