Every few years rumors go around that Puerto Rico is going to become a state. I felt ashamed when the last time it came up the first thought I had was "what? no, 50 is such an even number, we can't have 51 nifty united states!" lol. From what I can tell if PR wanted to be a state, they could, but I'm no politician. Tho reading about Hawai'i becoming a state... that was totally forced! Poor Hawai'i. At least we let Philippines go independent. How are we the home of the free if we force independent nations to become states in times of war? But if we were to offer Hawai'i independence now I'm pretty sure we wouldn't let them go, we Americans love Hawaii too much.And poor DC, they've been wanting to be a state since forever! Hawaii is supposed to be enjoying a coconut. Puerto Rico is based on *HolyNiwa 's design: [link] since I don't know enough about Puerto Rico to design my own.

Pshhh, yeah. Puerto Rico's never gonna become a state. 
But yeah, I feel kind of sorry for Hawaii having to be, well… for a lack of better words… kidnapped unwillingly and held captive by the U.S. forever. ;_;
