Description This is a stamp near and dear to my heart. These colours are perfect because green is the color for scoliosis (awareness month is June).

Credit goes to: here

I was diagnosed with scoliosis at age 9, braced at night time, then braced 23 hours for a few years, and by age 12 my double curvature threatened my organs and ability to function. I received spinal fusion surgery at age 12, and wore a brace-like cast for a year. Most of my spine is fused together with metal! I was supposed to live a normal life.
I'm in my 20s now, and I've experienced a herniated disc, and went through all non-operable options, but finally had to receive a micro-discectomy in attempt to reduce the pain and remove some of the disc matter. Disc herniation continues, but at least now I can walk again most of the time. I've had to resume wearing a smaller back brace for many activities. Degenerative disc disease, bone spurs, and nerve dysfunction continue to trigger immense back pain off and on. I have been able to go about my life, but it has been a challenge. I thank my background in self-care and massage from trade school in assisting me in managing this pain. But it's not a cure-all. A curvature of the spine persists in the fused region, and gets worse at the lumbar (lower back). I always joke the discs look like a bad game of jenga (they totally do! ).

It's odd you know. Everyone's case is different. I just want people to understand that scoliosis is more complex than it first seems to many people. I send love to everyone that has it! Stay strong as you are able!
