Oh geez, nice work! The letter style looks really welcoming, and again I think it has an old-styled feeling to it. I do agree, it does remind me of cross-stitching, and in fact it reminds me of the style of Art Nouveau because of the curves in the letters. Well done, keep it up!

Nice lettering it has that instant recognisability (word?) that makes it seem very familiar, reminds me off the homely but modern feel of some of Emigre's work. Nice. I love the long ascenders and low x height of the lower case letters it contrasts nicely with the uppercase letters.
I'm trying to decide if I like how the y,g etc sit proud of the baseline, its an interesting characteristic but I can see it looking odd in certain situations. The lowercase y seems a little wide and the lowercase v is a little strange looks awkward (I hate trying to get v's to work in non standard faces its a bitch).
On the whole though nice face that I would actually like to use if I had the right project, looks perfect on the chocolate branding.

Sorry, I neglected to get back to you because I wanted to really take in your comment. I totally agree with what you said about the y, g, and p, and I think I've figured out a way to solve it.. When I build out alternates for the lower case I'll just make it so the y,g,p, will sit on the baseline in the alternates sets. This should allow for plenty of flexibility, & will nicely solve that problem. Glad you like it, I'm a huge fan of emigre.

Sounds good, I try to watch deviations but sometimes don't manage to keep track, drop me a message when you upload a variation. I would love to see a joined up version with nice ligatures, perhaps an italic. I am curious as to where you sourced the cross stitch letterforms that you used for inspirations, I am designing a book on memory imporvement for a personal project and am researching ideas for a typeface idea. I want to make a flowing joined up face like neon designs but have it look old fashioned and traditional like your face, I'm thinking cross stitch letterforms could be an interesting inspiration. The idea derives from the idea of tyeing string around a finger as a reminder and the type flowing from that string.
Anyway nice to actually have an interesting constructive comment session with a deviant. Thank you. I'll post some of my type stuff when I get home later this month.

Very stunning. The font is something that keeps me guessing on what I could actually bring myself to use it for.

Thanks for your comments. I hadn't replied to this yet because I wanted to make sure I read it a few times, and investigated your comments more closely.
As I'm working at the font, I'll refer to your note. I think I agree with everything you said.

I"m just wondering if there is anything you can do to that lc K to make it more obviously a K. Right now it lives somewhere in-between a K and an R. While a person would likely know what it is, I think every effort should be made to reduce effort on the viewer's part and just make things as clear as possible (without sacrificing the integrity of the font).

it took about 20 hours concept, to current status. I have a lot of alternates built out, along with a big variety of different wieghts. I'm working a few hours a day on it.. the beta of the working font is almost done.
