these are my feferi/eridan face fins they are finished though i think at some point i will add some clip on earings to the top to c lip it to the tip of my earsThey are made out of transparent fimo and white fimo clay rolled super thin. the middle spines of the fines have a metal wire in them for support.they are painted with basic black and grey paint for the spines and metallic purple for the fin part

but is transparent the same as translusent?
just wondering because i looked on the hobbylobby website and it didnt say transparent just translusent

no its not the same. translucent only lets a little light through. transparent can get to the point where you can almost see through it.

thank you ^-^ and i attached clip on earings at the spot it intercepts with the tip of my ears and i use either liquid latex adhesive or spirit gum to attach it to the skin just in front of my ears

Is fimo difficult to work with? And why did you not just buy transparent purple fimo clay? I ask because I don't want to make any mistakes. I've worked with model magic before and it cracks horribly where I live.

fimo starts out hard and crumbly but the more you handle it the easier it is to use. you have to warm it up first between your hands to make it malleable. and i used paint instead of the purple transparent because i wanted to have control over the shade of purple.
Model magic will always crack when trying to make something as thin and fragile as fin ears, no matter where you live, it has something to do with its formula. I'm not really sure what though.and when the fimo is cooked its hard to rip or crack it. in order to make holes in my friends feferi fins i needed to use a set of drills but its still flexible enough to mold to your face even after cooking (make the connecting piece as thin as you can get it)

its all right if you look closely there is a very thin section i made while making the fin that sits on the section of skin just before the ear. that part is even thinner then the rest of it and is very flexable. i use spirit gum on that section and bend it after its cooked to attach it to my face.
also i added a set of clip on earings to the backside where it would match up with the top tip of my ear so its even more secure (though this is painful for people not used to things clamped on the ear)
