She has misplaced resentment issues, angry that Kasumi, her half-sister, is favored among the clan (she didn't even know about their relationship). She's also basically rude and condescending to everyone she meets, acting like she's better than everyone else. Basically using the whole bad childhood thing as an excuse to be an asshole to everyone.

I'd tell them to grow the hell up and not hide behind a freudian excuse like a damn coward, using that as an excuse to be an asshole to everyone else. It's just like the situations of Akane, Naru, Motoko, and other anime brats.
Besides, it's not like Kasumi encouraged it. She didn't even know they were half-sisters. I feel for her because she gets hunted down by her own clan, and for what? Because she chose her family over her clan? Not to mention the corporation making ALPHA based on her to use as a weapon.

I know he story of Kasumi and Ayane VERY well, but it is Hayate's fault for the clan to hunt her down. As for Ayane, what do you think she's doing? She's being her own person, but making their life even WORSE by beating them up or further name calling isn't helping at all, and Ayane endured it time and time again, and the only thing that's gonna do is put Ayane to her breaking point, and go ape s@#t on those that have hurt her in the past, and present.
