Hmm, that's a tough one. I'm almost done with working on some CD art for something due this week, so just PM or note me (or reply to this) to remind me and I'll see if I can figure it out.
Something that may help is to flip the canvas and look at it from the "correct" or right-side up angle and see if things look off. A trick I use on paper is to take the picture (you could do this with a print, per sey) and then hold it up to a light source so the BACK of the paper is facing you (the blank side) then take a close look at everything through the paper. Sometimes you dont see errors until your perspective is changed, after all~
Sorry if I've only said things that you already know. I'll totally give the facial expression a try once I finish coloring this CD though, for sure.
