I saw some people doing this sort of thing and decided to try my hand at it. This was a lot of fun, and I learned a lot about wing types and shapes while doing it
Each one is 20
except for #3 (that one's so messy it's worth only 10), though I'm open to a little bit of haggling on some of them.Who can guess which birds I used as reference on these? C:

I prefer people to try to guess, but they are tern, pheasant, turkey vulture, sparrow, albatross, gannet, swift, hummingbird, puffin, and barn owl

This is incredible! Β I knew a bit about how the shape of a bird's wing related to how they fly, but I've never seen such a perfect compilation of data like this. Β I know you made this as an adoptable series, but I'm honestly impressed with the research into wing-shape that must have gone into this!

I'll be honest, it really wasn't that much research
Mostly a prior knowledge about birds and the lifestyles of many different species, and knowledge of what kind of flight goes with those lifestyles.
For example, seabirds are excellent at gliding on the wind cast off of waves, and they need the ability to glide slowly to scan the water for food. Vultures use their huge wings to glide on thermals for hours and hours, never flapping, to cover ground efficiently while looking for dead stuff. Short wings are maneuverable, long wings are speedy, and not all wings are good at "majestic flight"

What kind of custom wings?

Hm, I have a set of eight characters I need wings for.
I'd like two similar to #1 and #5 (blueish grey for feather color for #5 please) (Which birds are those btw?)
Then a wing that is good for long flights
One that is good for fast take offs
Another that is bat wing (if possible) or something with good manuverablity/speed
Two along the lines of #6 (waterproof and folded in to paddles)
Lastly one which doesn't make much sounds when flapping
Um, for colors I'm looking for more neutral colors nothing overly vibrant like 7 or 10~
