Google is your friend, but, take this from a person whose religious beliefs lean on Scientology.
Basically, Scientology is a religion based on author L. Ron Hubbard. Scientology teaches that we are god-like immortal beings who created the universe for our own pleasure. However, we fell from grace due to interacting with it, causing us to loose our memory and forget our true nature.
It's a highly controversial religion due to the amount of high abuse stories surrounding the Church of Scientology, and the fact that Scientology is classified as a "UFO Religion," like Raelism. Why? Well, according to Scientology, we humans have lived past lives on alien planets as extraterrestrials, living among alien cultures.

Is it bad plenty of my religious beliefs circle around Scientology even though I despise the Church of Scientology?

No, not at all. There are some Scientologists who retain the beliefs but have left the church because of its abuse and controlling (read: cultish) behaviour. Β My Google-fu is failing me at the moment, but if I find any links for support groups of Scientologists who have left the church I'll see if I can put them on here.Β

Unlike others, I've never joined the CoS. I've always stood far, far away from the church due to my belief that the church itself is a cult.
I not only hate the amount of abuse in the church but I have a personal belief that the Bridge to Total Freedom should be free to all.

Every religion is a cult... it's just that because they are more popular, they are not called cults.

I have a book with extensive research done for all of the major cults and religions. Scientology is in it. Just reading about Scientology makes me cringe.Β

Meh I am sure there are plenty (ok some) people out their that follow Scientology without being a part of the large organization and spending money , You can read and believe in the books without having to join the organization. Β It is called free zone Scientology or independent Scientology.Β

I'm surprised you know about squirreling. The majority of people tend to believe Scientology = Church of Scientology.

Well yes I automatically think that too , but if someone reads and believes in all of it, then what are they a Hubbardist? nah they are just scientologists... or at least that's what I would consider them. Maybe none exists but hypothetically speaking.Β

If one truly believes in the teachings LRH said, yes, they are a Scientologist. A independent or free-zone Scientologist but still, a Scientologist.
Course, to the church, practicing Scientology outside the church is a crime no one can imagine.

Not the church itself, like if someone reads all the books or whatever and actually believe whatever it is they are not a scientologist unless they are a member of the large organization
yeh that logic doesn't make sense to me

They're not recognized as scientologists by the church. They can think they're potatoes if they want, no one cares.

Um so what many evangelicals don't think Catholics are Christians , does that mean they aren't Christian? I think there is a difference between being an inanimate object and being a follower of a particular belief.Β

I'd say it's charisma and deceitfulness. If you ever have the time drop by the Church of Scientology's official website. Β See how smooth they are, they've really got it down to an art.Β

It looks nice and well organized, and I'm sure the website isn't going to have all the "inside" information that's normally left out.
I was in the Mormon church for about 9 months at one time...for a very foolish reason I might add...but I was young and naive at the time...and their excuse was things weren't "secret" but "sacred."
For one thing, how many Mormons talk about their belief in "Heavenly mother?" Very few, unless you actually prod and ask them about it. I think they've basically taken Christianity and written this giant "fanfic" about the Bible with promises that you'll become a god and such if you follow all their beliefs and such. It's a load of nonsense and I'm quite glad I left before going to their temple, which they won't allow someone to do until they've been a member for a year. Oh sure their beliefs are fascinating and radically different from other Christian churches, but that doesn't change the fact that it was all a big made up fantasy started by Joseph Smith.
I only mention this since it's another example of a cult-ish religion and they all seem to share certain things in common, like a single "Church founder" who's supposedly got information about a belief system that makes them the "right church." But the thing about Scientology was that it seems whoever created the religion knew it was made up, knew they created it just to make money, and people still buy it anyway. But I suppose you're right, without knowing the guy made all this stuff up, looking at the website people might go on there and see the "good points" it presents. I noticed Jehovah's Witnesses tend to do the same thing in their Watchtower magazines, that I used to read out of boredom when I went to the laundry mat. But after being in the Mormon church, I look at this stuff with a very skeptical mindset.Β
