Description Just a reminder for some of the people out there who comment on my stamps - just because I'm asking a question that challenges your belief in your religion doesn't mean I'm doing it to harass or disrespect you. I'm not waging any wars here, only asking simple questions with simple animated stamps.

From my experience, it's the cult leaders, false prophets, and con artists who discourage honest questions anyway.

i used to be Someone who believed, but then I started to point out questions, and everytime I asked something to people that I was involved with that religion, they just didn't know how to answer and just say "leave it in hand of God, and stop worry of such stupid question" I started to do research for myself, and I saw even more people who couldn't prove their point on religion, everything I was believing didn't make sense to me, I ended up being a non - theistic
and tbh that was the only reasonable thing I could have haha

For us Christians, such questions are needed in order to test our faith.Β  I feel my faith getting stronger from such questions.

It depends on how the questioned is asked or what it is about, but otherwise I agree. Simply asking an inquisitive or challenging question is not disrespectful on it's own.

It's probably not the best course to insult an entire group of people as part of your compliment to one person.

Or at least, it's not at all in the spirit of the stamp.

There are some beliefs in my religion that I can't help but question, yet I get odd looks from people when I do. I'm sorry but there's something's that boggle my mind and I need to ask (respectfully of course). If anyone has any questions about my religion i'd be more than happy to try and answer them, doesn't mean they're being disrespectful to me ^^

I love how you replied to all my comments one month later, must show you really care or something. The best thing is how you say you don't want to start a flame war but you actively participate in it because you know it will start one, plus you actively participate in them.

The-Last-Sea-Serpent In reply to AgentKay004 [2014-04-01 09:51:47 +0000 UTC]

I apologize for the late reply. But seriously: every argument Creationists have made against evolution has been debunked by science.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AgentKay004 In reply to The-Last-Sea-Serpent [2014-04-01 21:26:45 +0000 UTC]

No, you don't need to apologize for a late reply, everybody does it.

Not all Creationists are brilliant apologetics or scientists, just like people that believe in evolution; just interrogate any random guy who believes in evolution and you'd find he doesn't know all of the scientific details because he's just an average joe; Creationists are also average joes who just happen to have different beliefs. But it seems that Creationists need to know more about all fields in science and defend their belief, which is very challenging, indeed.

And I disagree with you about how science "debunked" the claims by Creationists. Just like with everything else in life, there is evidence, and there is interpretation. Interpretations made by believers in evolution made many erroneous claims throughout history and the theory itself is constantly changing, not for the better I'm afraid. But the creation model has remained consistent, and I have heard some pretty compelling rebuttals against evolution.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

The-Last-Sea-Serpent In reply to AgentKay004 [2014-04-01 22:46:44 +0000 UTC]

First off: you don't "believe" in evolution, you ACCEPT it.
Second: the whole point of science is that theories are modified in response to new evidence. You honestly consider a 2,000 folk tale more reputable than testable science?
Third: would you be so kind as to share these " pretty compelling rebuttals against evolution" you have heard? Every single one of the rebuttals against evolution I have heard were-quite frankly-moronic to the point of being disgraceful to human intelligence.
Fourth: the Average Joe can't begin to explain how a computer works, either, yet that obviously hasn't deterred you from using one. I would like to point out that nearly all Christians I know don't seem to have ever read the Bible-all the way through, without the supervision of an authority figure-for themselves.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AgentKay004 In reply to The-Last-Sea-Serpent [2014-04-02 23:55:49 +0000 UTC]

You already know where I stand and you have the world at your fingertips, so I don't get why you're still bringing up these redundant questions.
And I guess the same can be said about people like you, you can't finish a whole science textbook without an authority figure to lead and guide you through it. It's all a learning process, thought you'd get that by now.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

The-Last-Sea-Serpent In reply to AgentKay004 [2014-04-03 00:50:27 +0000 UTC]

For your information: I have been reading school textbooks on my own since Elementary School.
You accuse me of bring up redundant arguments, yet you have yet to bring a legitimate argument into this discussion. If you can't think of anything new to say, and admit that your mind is closed to any ideas that challenge your faith; then I suggest that we cease wasting energy on this debate.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AgentKay004 In reply to The-Last-Sea-Serpent [2014-04-04 19:39:12 +0000 UTC]

Sorry if I offended you with with that whole textbook thing, should've made it a rhetorical question generalizing students instead, 'cause that would've been waay better.
And when you say end the debate, do you mean ALL the replies on the other stuff? because there wasn't any debate here as far as I can see.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

The-Last-Sea-Serpent In reply to AgentKay004 [2014-04-04 20:02:45 +0000 UTC]

I mean this specific debate, since it keeps going in circles.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AgentKay004 In reply to The-Last-Sea-Serpent [2014-04-07 21:04:35 +0000 UTC]

As I have mentioned, this specific "debate" isn't really a debate, if you cared enough to re-read the replies right here. It seems you're going more for an argument even if I didn't disagree with you on any facts, just with differing opinions- you freaking out, of course.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

The-Last-Sea-Serpent In reply to AgentKay004 [2014-04-08 00:17:11 +0000 UTC]

You're entitled to your own opinions, not your own facts. Forgive me for freaking out over the fact that: in this day and age, certain people still trust a 2,000 year old myth over testable science.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AgentKay004 In reply to The-Last-Sea-Serpent [2014-04-08 20:48:58 +0000 UTC]

I was just thinking about how you write, its something called persuasive writing where you add words to make something sound more bad than it is, based on your own opinions and feelings. "Myth", is how you want to discourage the idea while calling evolution "science", is how you want to make it sound more reasonable. But as you said, we're entitled to our own opinions, not facts.
Maybe you could also try your hand at emotive language, that way you can continue on being a hot-head.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

The-Last-Sea-Serpent In reply to AgentKay004 [2014-04-08 20:53:09 +0000 UTC]

Maybe you should try using actual evidence: which is what distinguishes science from myth. The fact that this argument keeps going in circles is why I am trying to end it in a relatively peaceful manner so that I can devote my attention to more stimulating conversations.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AgentKay004 In reply to The-Last-Sea-Serpent [2014-04-08 21:06:52 +0000 UTC]

Go on ahead and pursue other conversations, you don't need to keep replying. I'm actually surprised on how fast you answer back. If you are just one of those people that want to argue there's other people on this site you can pick a fight with. I just assumed, as with others before, that we are allowed to get side-tracked and not be so strict and narrow-minded. Like, art, for instance, as this is an art website. It does open doors for conversations, but that gets boring pretty fast.
