Well yeah, how Link's artwork has evolved in time.This is in scraps because I didn't actually do anything than search artwork for every game (which wasn't that easy) and touched them up a little bit so they looked more alike.
From left to right:
Adventure of Link, A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, Ocarina of Time, Oracle of Ages, Oracle of Seasons, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword

What I want to know is how did Link evolve from THAT (points at bottom left) to that? (points at top right + fangirl scream)

You know... one of the great things about this series is how the main character has been split into two totally separate archetypes and nobody complains. Currently Link is either the OOT-based version, very badass with an emphasis on swordsmanship, or he's the WW based version, adorable and charming with a major focus on items. And both work absolutely.
That said, I'm personally of the opinion that if Wind Waker had used visuals similar to Twilight Princess, but in all other respects (including lighting) the same as regular Wind Waker, it would've been ranked as the single most badass LoZ game of all time.

I practically had the ALttP/OoX/LA Link and the OoT/MM Link as my favorites during the last decade. I did like how TWW/PH Link was the most expressive though. And it didn't take long of SS Link to grow on me.

I think the oracle series version of Link is one of my favorites x'D next to Toon Link, and OOT/MM Link he's one of the most adorable versions lol he's portrayed as either a hot and handsome hero or a cute little boy >w<

Other Zelda artwork makes her look "stupid" because of the blonde hair color, but the Twilight Princess makes her look good and kick ass. ^_^
