Really cool man, I like your spin on Valdir. and yes it fits, but *Dramatic Duh duh duuuuuuuh* the outfit and tavern look alittle new and too clean tofit with the scruffy minstrel Valdir. But overall you got the the scene down pat. nice work

Maybe a bit bright for Van's alter personality as Valdir, but hey - it's up to the fans how to interpret it, right? Right. I think it looks awesome. The look on his face is gorgeous.

Lovely image...and if you remeber how magic affect the body in those books, he SHOULD still look younger than her is. ^-^

Hehe! I love this picture. And I love that you remembered the white in his hair. It seems like all of the art I've seen of him around this time keeps his plain black hair. But the book says that his hair is so white by this point that he's often mistaken for an old man until they see his young face. It bugs me that people leave that out.

...Wow, the colours are soo great. And all the details on his outfit, his instrument, the background... are very impressive. You have even done the spectators!
So I guess it will be another fav ^^

Yay!! Out of all the Valdemar books/trilogies The Last Herald Mage is my favorite. I also think it was the first ones I read of the series and continues to be my favorite books of all time. It also made me look into Lackey more which I am forever greatful for she's my favorite author in practically anything she writes. (Including the newest Ill Met By Moonlight). Awesome job!! I love it.

Oh, Vanyel's in a few of the other ones don't worry. *grins* He makes a somewhat appearance in the Queen's Own Trilogy and then DOES make an appearance in the Mage Wars (?) Trilogy. The one with Elspeth, but you have to read Queen's Own to understand the Mage Wars. In fact, you pretty much just need to read Queen's Own because after that Trilogy, all the rest make referances to what happened and the characters in that Trilogy. I'll shut up now, cause I'll end up babbling on forever about all her books. *grins*

It's the only trilogy with shaych characters as the main focus, yes. But in the Mage Wars Trilogy, I believe (haven't read them in a while) that one of the supporting characters is shaych. And don't be embarassed, I understand. *grins*
