yes the pink comes when the copper oxide looses its oxygen parts in the firing. (i am not sure how to spell it in eglish ... hope you understand ) Normally a firing has oxygen in the kiln but in a woodfiring it is possible to reduce the amount of oxygen in the kiln so that chemical changes happen in the oxides.
