Description Funny how Dr. Harkon, the antagonist of my upcoming book, changed throughout time. All carnations of a scientists first was a black woman, then to a white older woman who was a rip-off Olivia Pierce from Doom, then back to a black woman and now a black women who's mostly a cyborg. And each version owned a man child slave, Mr. Anderson

This version of Harkon is a cyborg that has very little of her original human body, all that left is her head which even that is almost gone. Her face's skin is barely clinging onto the skull and only the more important parts of her fleshy brains stays as the rest has been replaced with more superior cybernetics. Now more machine, she has little regards to human life and is responsable to some rather question "medical and business" practices, which might be the reason why her company, G-Tec, is the leading expert in making vile synths.

She ins't normally walking around like this, she generally wears her lab coat to cover her skeletal-machine body and shes also 8ft tall too

Nice! She reminds me a bit of Mukuro from YuYu Hakusho, actually!

I had to look her up, but I sorta see the resemblance. Actually she's based off of Hans Volter from Killing Floor 2, mutated Alex Wesker, and a few cyborg characters from BLAME!

but what's YuYu Hakusho about?

I definitely saw some Alex in there, but I was unfamiliar with the other references.

Basically, it's a great fighting manga. This kid dies, and is offered the chance to come back to life. When he does, he works for the Underworld as their detective whose job is to capture demons. It turns into mostly fighting after that, but the story is interesting and pretty gritty.

Hans Volter is one of the bosses you could fight in Killing Floor 2 who's a 100-year-old nazi cyborg that's armed to teeth with duel MP44 and HE/gas grenades. I actually based some parts of his face and the respirator(it recently just hit me that Alex too had a respirator) as well his sadistic personality into Harkon.
That and a good part of the characters in BLAME! are mostly cyborgs and has a very gritty cyberpunk setting. A lot of the cyborgs kinda look like a robotic version of the Cenobites from the hellraiser movies.

Sounds cool, and from the art style, I could tell it's must be an old school anime too. Right now, I am watching Hellsing Ultimate which is a really rad anime and playing the Attack on Titan game too which is solid(though I think it's a bit more polishing). That's my current anime situation.

Huh. Cool. Cyberpunk fits; I could see that. Makes for great, unapologetic villains.

It's definitely a nice, gritty, early 90's manga/anime. It was pretty cool back in the day, because you got away with a ton of blood, violence, and swearing, and it really did help!  Oh, good anime choices. I'm thinking about sitting down and finally finishing Shakugan no Shana.

HtP is supposed to be in a "low" cyberpunk setting, so thought it would be fitting. Though speaking about villians, I'm a bit at crossroads on G-Tec. Now while I think they be a good "unapologetic" villain, but I heard the best villains are the ones you could actually agree with. So I decided some of the G-Tec characters, like Harkon, Andrew, and Mr. Night, will be the actually evil ones while some like Rango and Magnum would be more "nicer."

Might add it onto my list along with Psycho Pass, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and might finish Witchblade. I watched the first episode of Hellsing and instantly got hooked and got me wanting to ride on with it, which with Witchblade was a bit of a drag to watch. and Attack on Titan has a special place in my heart, so I had to get the game and I been enjoying it quite a bit.
What's Shakugan no Shana?

That's fair, too. If you can dislike yourself for understanding the villain, that's a pretty powerful way to write.

That's a good list. You might also get a kick out of D. Gray Man if that's your list.

Shakugan no Shana is...hard to explain. The long and short of it is, there are evil things that eat people's souls and replace them with replicas called "Torches", which hold the place of the original sou and gradually disappear, so as not to cause imbalance. There are those who fight the evil "Crimson Denizens", and they're called "Flame Hazes". One of them is named Shana- a badass little tsundere type with a sword. She meets a boy who's been replaced by a "Torch", but he happens to be a Mystes- a treasure holder- whose existence is refilled each night at midnight. She falls in love with him, while lamenting that he's so weak. He tries to get stronger for her, they keep misunderstanding each other, and then there are constant battles, too. It's a lot more badass than I'm making it sound, lol.

Im trying not to make "white and black" here as I heard that's a sign of poor writing, some trying to get some grey morality. It would be easy to make G-Tec a bunch of assholes that only care about of money, but gee aren't all corporations like that?

What's D. Gray man? I saw a cosplayer as one of the characters from that show and she looked pretty cool, so it sorta has my interest

I'll just use Wikipedia, but give you an E for effort on explaining lol

See, not necessarily imho. This is ONLY an opinion, but there are times when having a villain you can really, truly hate can be useful. Usually, though, that comes after your hero develops. It takes a scum bag to make your hero a hero; it takes a battle in the "gray area" with a villain you can understand to make the hero deep; it takes a villain you can truly despise to make your hero the undisputed good guy. But, in your case, that may not be what you're aiming for with Natalia. I think your hero is probably more the "dirty hero" type. There's stupid-nice heroes like Naruto, who just CANNOT see the bad in anybody; then there's darker heroes, like Saito Hajime of Rurouni Kenshin fame. If I had to guess, I'd say Natalia will be the latter.

D. Gray Man is a manga that focuses on a group of exorcists called "The Black Order" who battle demons called Akuma. Allen Walker is the star. He's got a parasite-type "innocence" (the name for anti-akuma weapons), which transforms his arm into a weapon. You've got Lenalee Lee (who you most likely saw being cosplayed, because she is cute as hell!), who has "Dark Boots", which allows her to run fast, jump high, and kick with incredible power. So basically, these exorcists are trying to collect all the innocence in their battle against the "Millenium Earl", who wants to destroy all the innocence. It's a race to collect them all and either protect the world or destroy it. Cool combat, nice story, good art.

Yeah, I agree, but MAN that is a hard series to explain. You have to see it for yourself to even sort of understand it, honestly. The manga is nice, but got cut off in the US for not selling (because it wasn't a Shonen Jump offering).

Well I really don't want to make a villain that's just "boo I'm evil!" Granted im not writing some Kojima/MGS but I linda want some reasoning to G-Tec's madness. In fact now thinking of it, I might make them really unrelatable since most of them are cyborgs. Thought of a funny scene where they are having a meeting, and Rango is the only normal person their and everyone else is just acting really strangely.
and yeah Natalie certianly ins't a goody two shoes, ins't afraid to punch someone in the face if the harass her sister*hint hint* lol

actually the character she was cosplaying as is what I believe is a guy. He had red hair and an eyepatch. But looking it up a little, sounds pretty cool so I'll add it to the list.

"On the outside, looking in" sort of perspective? That'll probably be fun to write

lmao, I do enjoy characters with a bit of tang to them!

Oh, that's Lavi. Huh. don't see too much of that cosplay. Huh. well, if you ever DO run across a Lenalee cosplayer...you're a lucky man!

Yeah, the chapter would be told from his perspective and he doesn't really put in too much saying in the meeting but he does observe his fellow coworkers. Everyone acts more like a weird computer than human or have some really crazy ass idea aswell as really strange mannerism(want Harkon to do some subtle torments to Andrew, who also would just act like a complete fucktard throughout the whole thing).

But back to the villain thing, I think I meant to say that I would need to at least to have a good reason for my villain to be doing the things the do other than just "oh I'm a bad guy." A good example of characters turning bad for various reasons(some really good and others kinda eh.) would be the Horus Heresy event in Warhammer 40k, where 9 of the 20 space marine legions turned traitor. Thousand Sons, who have probably the best story for their fall but it's pretty long, turned to chaos because they tried to warn the Emperor something VERY important but in turned absolutely ruined something also very important
-Thousand Sons, who have probably the best story for their fall but it's pretty long, turned to chaos because they tried to warn the Emperor something VERY important but in turned absolutely ruined something also very important that pissed the Emperor off so much that he actually ordered the whole legion to be wiped out because the are now "traitors"(This is pretty much on the level of a father ordered one of his sons kill another because he broke the car). So the Space Wolves(the TS rivals, a space marine legion with a Viking motif) went to their home world and pretty much slaughter them. But Tzeentch, Chaos god of change, offered them that if the worship him then he will save them. Well, he sorta did but he kinda mutated them and that is another story and I'm trying to keep this short lol.
-World Eaters didn't have really a good story, pretty much a violent bunch that bloodthirst made them even more insane and turned them into traitors to kill more things! also didn't help that their leader is a psychopath that can only feel happiness by murdering things. That's pretty much for them lol

Well she was pretty cute, but I might have seen her at a con but didn't know as I never knew of the character until you told me lol

You know what might help us both? Putting our respective heroes and villains side by side and just chatting them out. Would you be up for that?
