Watercolor 2017, Livadia, Tilos, Greece.Finally everything is calm. All of the bathers have gone home. I'm here in the gap between afternoon and evening, when everyone else in Livadia seems to be at home dressing up for a drink, maybe at Petrino's. My favorite bar. Well, I'm still out here enjoying the last rays from the sun. Alone with my sketch-book and my thoughts. All I can here is the soft waves over the pebble beach and some music and laughter from one of the boats anchored in the bay. Besides that, everything is quiet and the cats are resting in the shadows from the trees. Everything is calm. Waiting for the evening to take hold. Looking out over the bay. Writing a couple of words. Drawing a couple of lines. I'm so happy to bee here!

Wow. Absolutely stunning! Is this watercolor? Do you take your painting tools outdoors, and color your landscapes directly on the beach, or do you color at home afterwards?

Wow thanks!!! Yes, it's watercolor! Sometimes I paint outside and that is really the best experience! If I do, I always finish the painting outside. However, this specific painting I made at home after my trip to the island of Tilos. I'm happy that you find my colors to feel real. The interesting thing is that I don't really try to make them that realistic, but I'm glad that they feel true and real! Again thanks!!

Oh, of course I should have explained that I used one of my photos from Tilos as reference, so I didn't paint it from memory only (even though the memories from there are really nice ). Thanks!
