Watercolor 2014, Båstad, Sweden.Moments on the beach just after sunset. Believe it or not it is actually winter and one of the paintings I made during a quiet walk along the beach west of Båstad in December 2014. I'm not sure that one can tell which season it is in the painting, but I wanted to capture the clear winter air and the more pale evening sky.

You have definitely captured the chill of winter in the colour of the water against the sky. The weak Winter Sun is touching, but not penetrating. Perfection - and I wish I was walking there.

This is exactly what I tried to express. I wasn't sure that I succeeded, so it's really nice to know that you felt it! It was a nice (but cold walk). However, the cold didn't bather me that much because I had just had a very hot sauna before the walk at a very nice public sauna just at the waters edge in this little town of Båstad. I can warmly recommend a visit during the summer, since this is more of a "summer-town"! Take care!
