They followed us along the trail, hoping we'd feed them! That's at Iguassu Falls, on the Brazil side. On the Argentina side we were taken on a safari ride through sub tropical rainforest, and all we saw was trees and butterflies. No ocelots, no rhesus monkeys, no parakeets, not a snake did we encounter. Ah well.The quatis the next day made up for it! There were litters of kits as well, like a cross between kittens and guinea pigs!

did you ever hear of the spartan boy who stole a fox-cub and got caught with it up his top but then refused to admit he'd stolen one and withstood questioning until he dropped down dead because the fox had chewed through his abdomen and opened his guts? that's what they'd do to you. eat you alive, they would. see those big fangs? ferocious animals. smuggle one back! I'd like to see you try!!

Ehem. Now that I've gotten that out of my system... Great capture. Never seen these before, but they're adorable. I love the different expressions you caught, especially the one on the bottom, all curled up.
I'd almost say they look like a combination of cat and fox. They have that foxy, pointed nose, but even moreso. I love them! Hehe! Aww... I'd be so tempted to pet them. *clasps hands together and pouts* I love those looong tails.

in theory not pettable - we weren't allowed to touch them or feed them because they'd grow to depend on people. But the came right up close, they weren't scared! Some of the kits were fighting and collided with my leg! (Apparently if they think you have food they'll climb up you to steal it, or snuffle in your bag.)
