I love this one, the coloring and shading is different in a good way its nice to see new things. I love the outfit too... *tries to imagine Honey in the same outfit* tehe Though I think its missing something... perhaps some books? or a bag since its after school? but anyway its a prime depiction of just sitting back and relaxing after a hard day at school~

hehe I was thinking the bag is in the ground :3
it's actually a place where I used to spend time after school years ago. I love that place. Always left the bag in the ground because I wasn't able to climb there with it XD
Thank you!

My two-year-old nephew is a better artist than you. And he can't even color in the lines.
Stop trolling traditional artists. The people whose artworks you're pissing on are LIGHT-YEARS ahead of you when it comes to skill.

so I guess you meant art.
No offence but I don't think you're quite professional with art at all.
It's not about the medium you use to make art, it's about how you make the certain piece come out with anything you can use.
I do digital art as well, but I love traditional work too because you can do things what you can't do digitally.
Computers aren't something you HAVE to use, it's just good to know how to use them as well.

Wow, I am stunned that someone so stupid has managed to make it 18 years.
An artist is able to work in all sorts of mediums. Her traditional picture looks pretty good, and better than your digital art. You should learn to respect those that are better at things that you try to do. :/
Regardless of that fact, not everyone works digital, not everyone wants to, you need to learn to not try to press your own opinions on others as fact.

tifreak8x In reply to politocali [2011-02-03 10:30:50 +0000 UTC]
No, it's like it is FACT that art is art, and is great regardless of the medium. I've looked at your gallery, and you have no right at this point to say whose is better. Her art as traditional works is far better than your 'art'.
Also, as a high schooler, I would expect better grammar usage from you. You look and act like a child. Grow up and act your age, and start spelling like your age. It completely nullifies any argument that you try to make, spelling like that.

They are not low standards. Traditional art is better because it takes more skill to not mess up. There is not an undo button for it, so you have to be more careful. And I'm not hating on you all the time.
And we only gang up on you because you state your opinions like they're fact when they are not. We are just trying to tell you that you come off as arrogant.

I admit that we do smack you down because of your "opinions", but what we define as opinions are like "I would suggest doing x, y, and z, for a, b, and c reasons, but it's up to you." I know you think your comments are this way, but in reality, you say "you need to do x, y, and z because it doesn't look good if it doesn't have x, y, and z."

There is ALOT things I can make look better with traditional art. You can use different mediums to give the drawing a different feel and shine of the material, of course you can't experience this when the work is just scanned (+ that there is only one original version which makes it unique what art is supposed to be). Computers make it ridiculously easy for people to draw nowdays. Also you CAN erase lines with an eraser or white paint (or any colour matching the background) in traditional art if you didn't know. But when you use medium where you cant erase lines (such as basic watercolours) it's about the true skill of drawing to make it good in the first place. Digital artwork is just another medium to use along the many others, it's not anything big. People will always respect traditional artwork more.
You cant define what is good by what it is made with.

What medium would you like to use to colour? :3 colour pencils are pretty easy, you just need to be patient with them, colour to the direction where the material flows (for example the hair in this drawing), if it doesn't have a direction you colour on it a few times each to different direction (such as the sky here). And press more when the area is shadowed, also press lighter when there's light areas :3
Just make sure you have good colour pencils for drawing use, I have a 34 colour set from Inktense, they also flow when you add water, but less colours is fine too, since you have all you need to mix them to make new shades.
Colouring is shading at the same time, so area by area think what you're going to do and finish it. And keep in mind where the light source is coming ^^
Most of this appeals to all other colours as well, with water colours you just need to start from the light parts.

Weirdo person.
I've never seen such a silly comment before, if it really meant art XD
I know my art doesn't have to be digital always, it's not the tools that describe how good the art is, it's how you use them to finish a piece ^^

Very cute and fun drawing.
I like how you gave the concrete some actual sort of surface, rather than just being completely smooth, though might have wanted to add some texture to the concrete on both sides of her body, as it suddenly becoming smooth just looks slightly odd.
But absolutely Love the ankle and arm warmers, really want a pair of those ~<3
Good luck on exams Neko!

Neotheta In reply to XMD-CQB [2011-02-01 15:19:54 +0000 UTC]
well the light comes from behind, so the concrete in the side we see it is partly shadowed and the little shadows of the small rocks in it are seen. I usually think how I see things irl o.o sometimes they don't look so good when drawn though.
and I actually based this character from a style of clothing I used to wear. I have those arm warmers :3
Thank you! ^^

Cybershop and Backstreet currently sell these things, also those sweaters you mentioned.
They have webshops but I don't know if either 1. is in english 2. ships stuff abroad.
