This was the runner up on the poll for me to do the next art pic. I may do another slightly different version, where the story is once again mangled. In this one, the knight comes to rescue the princess and slay the dragon, but as soon as he mentions slaying the dragon, the princess has a slightly different response then he expected....Princess: You will NOT harm my dragon, I will not stand for it!
Knight: But....look.....it's a dragon.....I'm a knight....we slay..
Princess: BUT NOTHING! You hurt one scale on his body and I will shove that hammer so far up your backside, it will be covered in your DINNER!

This sort of twist reminds me a story where the prince of a poor kingdomΒ went to slay a dragon and claim its hoardΒ only to find the dragon wasΒ in need of rescue from the princess and to make it it worse the dragonΒ collected butterflies instead of gold.

Beautiful work! My kind of story line too.
If I may make a suggestion.....
The walls and the ground seem flat. Perhaps a bump map would give these a better 3d feel like is so evident in the dragon and the knights armor.

The kind of map you would want is one that recesses the breaks in the stone and the mortar on the bricks. You can use the same image as the you did for the texture as a bump map. This works ok, but for the best results use the same image and either de-saturate it or make it gray scale(black and white). Bump maps work off of dark and light. The dark gets recessed and the light gets raised, this is why a colored image will work, but also why a B&W works better.

I am really encouraged by the reaction I got with this one, even got a request for this one as a print....but I want to try my hand at one other version of this (slight change in how it is arranged) before I make a print option.
