Fatalis is my fallen angel character whose wing was broken on the battlefield, he was then caught under a large hellbeast that died on top of him for three days.His faith in is Lord is currently fading, and he doesn't know where to turn.

Ok, so, the common angel has its wings square on its back. If it tried to fly, it would fail. When wings flap, they have to come down at a downward angle. With regular angel wings, they come straight down, meaning that they can only fly vertically. With the wings on the side of the body, you can create the downward angle needed to propel yourself forward...
