You know how some nights for no reason you get the spooks and the dark is scary even if you're in familiar surroundings? This happened to me the other night, and I couldn't get the image out of my head of specifically Regan standing right next to me in the dark with her teeth all out in that big creepy grin of hers.
Just thought it'd be fun to let you know your character spooked me way more than I thought she did!

YES. Yes. I can totally resonate with that. When I was researching horror themes and working on my audition I slept with the lights on. I still sleep with the lights on sometime. Oh my goodness! Oh man, I have to say, I really admire your dedication to characterization and storytelling in general that you'll even spook yourself super hard for the sake of it, hot damn!

OH NO WAIT OK I JUST CHECKED it was a harvest moon pokemon group, not an animal crossing group ahaha too bad I sucked and got too anxious to do anything with my character and just kind of did nothing ever 8') pfffffff

It's just from researching horror themed comics. It's fun though!! I feel like comics provide an unexplored medium for the horror genre; there aren't all that many out there.
Hey, I'm sorry you didn't make it to Round 2. I feel like you and I were put up against people who were already really popular and so the odds were sort of stacked against us. I hope you'll continue doing OCTs though!! Your submissions were really solid and gorgeous. They explored visual story-telling in a way that not many of the others did! It made the scarecrow really stand out.Β

Man they really do, and it's hard cuz with animations or films, things can be obscured through movement and timing and even sound, and with writing ... well the author has complete control over what is being told, so there's that! Comics are balancing a fine line and it can be hard to hit it, but oh man when they hit it they hit it! Junji Ito has managed to creep the hell out of me too comic-wise, I'm sure you ran into his stuff too, and there's a lot of it!

I'm so glad to see you keep going, I'm so damn curious about how things will continue, especially with Regan's goal for joining torn away so swiftly! I am a little disappointed I guess, but honestly for the most part I'm so freaking excited to see EVanimations continue aaaa plus I definitely will continue doing octs, there are already two I'm eyeing super hard! I'm itching for more interactions of this kind, I forgot how much fun these were! ;v;

You have quite a bit of freedom with Animation but you're also constrained by the show-don't-tell rules. I looooove Junji Ito so much, he's a big inspiration for me. X33 I'm reading through his stuff right now, trying to draw inspiration from his themes and concepts.

Hey, if you're interested in looking into another OCT, I know there's quite a bit of hype around The Tower oct that's supposed to start up this summer. It's affiliated with The Walking City. It might be worth looking into also.

Oh yeah true, plus it's so easy for people to fall into just relying on jumpscares, which are ok but need to be used a lot more sparingly dammit. Oh my god but yeah his stuff is so good!! I remember for some reason the one with the lady in the window creeped me out the most, just seeing what she did with the window at the end, even though it was a comic I was practically jumpscared by it (in the good way) and it's just stuck with me since.
There is such a great lineup I'm so looking forward to seeing what happens! c8 I'll have to take a look at that oct tho, I actually haven't read anything on the Walking City yet I'm so lame
