Love the Lego-esqe feel this has, and the block shading of the bloobers is awesome. It's neat, looking at how the squid on the far right seems 2-D while the far left one shows off all the individual tentacles.

The coins, and coral reefs in the background are a nice touch. I love how you make the old 8-bit 2D sprites look 3D by adding block pixels to make them more dimentional, it's a great look. The Bloopers & mushroom look good to.
I'm faving this over the Mario version, because Luigi needs more love, I feel.

Thank you. I just totally improved the Bloobers' look yesterday; they were too crude and boxy before. They resemble real squid a little more now.
