Description This is my homage to horns, so obviously and heavily inspired by Mesoamerican art and my small trip to Guatemala, my contribution to the HORNED GOD/GODDESS OF THE FOREST CONTEST at the [link] (how in the world do I add images and links to a description...does anybody know?)

I figured a rainforest horned goddess would look like this for some reason.

My first time on Arches Hot Pressed and I have to say, it f'ing rocks....watercolours and a bit of white gouache, pretty small, 7 by 10 inches.

Having seen this picture I would love to make it in to a real dress. I think it may be the next one I make.

Hope it turns out alright

Awesome horns! I have to say i'm getting some egyptian vibes, but I perceive things differently...but hey! both groups made pyramids XD

more on the horns: they remind me of Darkness's horns from the movie "Legend", except I never liked his because they seemed way too heavy for his head to hold up and were just so overdone...but the big horns really work here! I like them!

this also reminds me of a Brian Froud painting he did for the book "The Runes of Elfland" and it was the one for "The Rune of Thorn"

great job! and it's even greater that a painting came out so well on such small paper...I like to work small, but I find it hard to do details with paint of any kind on small paper (which is one of the many reasons I rarely paint ^^)

stunning, i admire your skill. you have amazing talent with the medium.. and i have to agree that finding the right paper is where it's at for watercolour... i'm an arches fan myself... but tried some strathmore... ugh what a disaster - supose it's all personal preference.

The design was based on Mayan art....I had a quick visit to Guatemala's archeological museums and there is such aesthetical wealth there it's scary!

Isn't Arches precious? It's a double edged sword for me though, since sometimes I freeze and tighten too much when in front of my Arches HP block...then everything goes down the drain....

Yep it is my favourite paper, although Fabriano is great too, have you tried that?
I think the white paper syndrome is something we all get y'know. It can be very scary! Wish I knew how to banish it for good
