Description The Mt. Ślęża (718 m a.s.l.) is a well known mountain located in the Sudetic Foreland. It towers over Silesian Lowlands by about 500 meters and is surrounded by numerous lower hills (of which Radunia is most prominent). Ślęża massif is a huge monadnock built of hard rocks, resistant to erosion - mainly of gabbros but also granites, granodiorites, quartzites and many other. And where the gabbros and less resistant granites meet geomorphic threshold was formed clearly visible in the silhouette of the mountain about halfway its northwest slope. It bears distinct name Skalna (Rocky). This photo shows small part of it.

Interesting to see rocks and forest in the same place.

It's rather common occurence here because almost all of our mountains lay below alpine tree line.
