Do you mean for Ultimate Clash?

Hell Yea!

I'll probably do so, each character though must have at least three normal ground attacks, three specials, one air attack and one air special, super animation, dash, well the list basically goes on.

They have all of that actually, you just have to be creative with it.

Awesome, that will make things much easier for me when I'm planning on adding them.

Oh yea and use Lucas too!

Ness and Lucas will be in, now all I have to worry about is Kumatora.

No thanks I'm not makin' Kuma... But you could edit her from the Paula sprites I have.

Well I was never intending to bring you into the situaion. I was actually planning on creating a new JUS-styled sprite sheet for her, the only thing that will concern me if I do that is relating her with the other MOTHER characters. They have their original style while Kumatora has JUS, I don't know what to do. I really want Kumatora to have this style as it also matches with Ultimate Clash's general style, this will become a problem indeed.

I know I was kiddin' on that part. Btw what is JUS? Is that Jump Ultimate Stars or something?

Looks good but it needs some shading (it looks all metalic and stuff) and I guess its a good idea to go back and try to curve some of the parts (it looks a bit blocky)

I actually tried darkening the shades, it does look nice but it doesn't match the sprites style I am looking for. I'm trying to follow the sprite ways of MOTHER 3: not too much detailed, simple, yet good-looking.

The sprites in general look blocky. and if your going for mother 3 style look, try lighting up the colors a bit. They look too dark.

I see what you mean. I really appreciate the tips, but it's pretty hectic when I have to recreate sprites and such after adding the playable character already, the work cycle is much of a pain for me, editing sprites just make it more painful than it is. I might just give the time to edit these, but it's not likely due to many reasons, on-topic and off-topic.

I've actually done just one revision, I detailed up the shading, colored the outlines, vise versa, it looks really nice but too much work for me to handle. I got coding to deal with already so I don't want to push myself too much or I'll end up losing most of my motivation.

It takes a while to get sprites just right. Trust me, remaking my Arroyo sprites was hectic. getting the shading right, making sure the poses don't look disfigured, be sure that the height of the sprites are right(such as walking and running)

When it comes to designing for Mother Savior I don't mind redoing, but Ultimate Clash is a different story for me.

Shading is in there, it's just very subtle to most eyes. Which do look blocky to you, do you mean specifically a sprite or the sprites in general? If you mean as in too pixel-ish, that would be the case of the sprites style, but I'm unclear on what you exactly mean by blocky.

Some poses seem to need a bit more frames, and perhaps shades would be good too, but its not bad.

NessStar3000 In reply to lucas-irineu [2008-05-09 19:27:04 +0000 UTC]

There is shading, it's just subtle and I can't get too complicated with the frames because that would make the rest of the other sprites for the game look bad, as in other words I need to keep frame animations in such an equilibrium with the rest of the other sprites.

I see. But about the shades, you should consider making them a bit strong. But thats just my opinion.

It would be nice I can agree with you there, however I would have to re-import the revised sprites onto the game again, which does take a long time. I'll think about it, I'll probably do so since I do indeed love the little guy. XD

xP What are ya using to make the game?

NessStar3000 In reply to lucas-irineu [2008-05-09 21:19:12 +0000 UTC]

A free program called Game Maker, you can search it up on Google for more information.

lucas-irineu In reply to NessStar3000 [2008-05-09 22:37:47 +0000 UTC]

I know what game maker is =\
Is that there are so many game making programs you could be using.

NessStar3000 In reply to lucas-irineu [2008-05-10 04:43:32 +0000 UTC]

True, but I use Game Maker myself: easy and convenient if you ask me.

lucas-irineu In reply to NessStar3000 [2008-05-10 12:44:36 +0000 UTC]

I see. I never used game maker before, I am more of a RPG Maker guy. But it would be too hard (but not impossible) to make a fighting game with RPGM.

NessStar3000 In reply to lucas-irineu [2008-05-10 14:50:05 +0000 UTC]

It is possible, it would just take a lot of creativity and concepting to do. With Game Maker, I can pretty much make a game in any genre, but I make RPGs more than the rest.

In UC, will there be alternate colors?

NessStar3000 In reply to OrochiSaKu [2008-05-09 17:22:06 +0000 UTC]

It's a definite possibility, but that would take some sharp thinking, my coding setup can be just as stubborn as me. XD
