Description Hey love
That's the name we've long held back
From the core of truth.
So don't turn away now;
I am turning in revolution.

I would re-render this so that there'd be less grain, but it was already a 14-hour render and I'm way too impatient to leave my computer on forever.

Apophysis 2.05b2Z+C+r3

Please FULL-VIEW and enjoy.

It's Max-tastic!

Seriously, classic Nestalgica style right here. I actually really like the emptiness of the bottom part, in a way, I wish all the busy stuff at the top wasn't there and it was just a very subtle image with a great, sweeping shape and subtle colors, but I can see why you kept that part as such a focal point.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nestalgica In reply to Phoenix-22 [2008-05-23 06:07:04 +0000 UTC]

I kind of wish I could take that all away, too. But, I can't, as it's what makes the whole fractal work.

Thank you, Matt. I'm glad you like it.

Dang, you put on Advanced Critique Encouraged but there is no way I'll be able to give good critique... I think it's awesome. it looks somewhat comet-like.

I usually hate looking at fractals because I just don't get the point of them.

But I think I get the point of this one, whatever it is. I adore this one, and that in and of itself is like...

(get ready for it)

...EPIC.

Hmm, I dunno what critique I can give... I know nothing about fractals.

I don't mind the grain, it actually looks nice here. The piece itself is very eye-catching and I love the little details. From afar it kind of looks like a bouquet of flowers.

Flowers or wheels of time descending? Love the design, and though I know nothing of fractural art, I will say that you composition is a bit top heavy. Other than that, it is simply wonderful. You amaze me Max.

I can't really offer a critique as I suck at Apo, but I will say that this is certainly eye-catching. Wonderful lighting and dramatic composition and the little sparkle at the bottom is the perfect touch. As for the graininess I know that it's usually frowned upon amongst a lot of Apo users but I like it in this image, it takes nothing away from this beauty. Definitely a fave!

I really appreciate the thoughts, Kris. I try to go for a more dramatic air to my fractals, glad I achieved it. Thanks so much!

Okay. I have a new computer, nice big monitor, and lots of hardware resources to exploit.

But when it comes to Apo 2.07 3D, I'm retarded.

Give me params to play with plzkthx.

BTW, this is hawtness on my screen.

What I really like about your fractals is how you juxtapose chaotic elements with minimalist elements. The technique works really well.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nestalgica In reply to burningmonk [2008-05-13 07:10:14 +0000 UTC]

It's like that in real life: Things can be chaotic as hell, and that can be the focus, but you realize that there's beauty in both the chaos and the tranquility. Thanks a lot, dude.

Oh, it's beautiful, Max. I love the balance of the busyness at the top and the tranquility at the bottom, it's so floaty. and the sparkles are great too. I also like your gradient, it's very different and gives another feeling of balance between warm and cold. Great work!
