Description This is a request for *cooley , and more will come! I'm working on a few pieces for her.

This render took roughly 70 hours -- it's bound to, with its full size being 5000x3000px. G, if you have anything you want to change, tell me, and I'll see what I can do. I'll even start over if you want.

Please FULL-VIEW and enjoy!

Which variation did you base this off of?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nestalgica In reply to factorone33 [2007-06-09 00:31:18 +0000 UTC]

It's mainly Julian and Spherical... I could go over it with you when I get back

factorone33 In reply to Nestalgica [2007-06-09 07:30:35 +0000 UTC]

Perhaps. I'll goof around with those two. I'm assuming that there was some movement with the transforms on the editor in reference to the base triangle?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nestalgica In reply to factorone33 [2007-06-09 20:44:35 +0000 UTC]

Of course there was. It's a very complex flame -- I think 7 triangles in all, each with different degrees of variation values/variables. It's actually the latest in a long line of tweaks dating back to Sol , when I was playing with unique takes on Grand Julians.

Amazing! I love how it looks like there're a bunch of different clock faces, and for 70 hours of work, you deserve a nice break AND a pat on ze back. *pat*

Nestalgica In reply to SheepiSaru [2007-06-01 05:56:24 +0000 UTC]

Well, it was more 70 hours of the computer sitting there and me screaming at it to make it go faster. It's not quite work, but I will take a cookie, if you're offering!

First off I must say instant fav, and second I must ask if it's too weird of me to think this picture adorable beyond words? :/
I looooooove the different flowery/mechanical designs in this picture. Those 70 hours truly paid off, amazing job! <3

Nestalgica In reply to Lilyoftheflames [2007-06-01 23:55:52 +0000 UTC]

I don't think it's weird. Do you think it's weird?

Thanks so much, Kortney! I wasn't going for flowery as much as starry, but it didn't work out too well, I think.

You're very much welcome!! hmm, it works either way I suppose, great job on the outcome no matter what, right?

What were your primary variations with this?

bah, i hate being all technical, so i'll add the sentimental bit:

Holy cheddar, batman! That's astounding!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nestalgica In reply to BlueStrata [2007-05-29 04:41:05 +0000 UTC]

Mmm... I think julian and spherical were pretty evenly used, but this is really complex flame. There's a lot to keep track of. Something like 6 transforms.

And thanks, Erin!

Pretty!!!

Question... Do you do all this with numbers? Because I looked at a fractal program and it asked me for equations.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nestalgica In reply to Phoenix-Pyre [2007-06-01 23:53:26 +0000 UTC]

There's very little number work, actually. There is some, but we don't actually see any math beyond simple geometry -- triangles.

Weeee!

I like it very much! 70 hours is a long time to wait for a fractal, I'm quite impressed by your patience.

...And your skill...And your generosity...and a bunch of other stuff that I will avoid listing for now.

Thank you very much! i had no idea you would have this posted so soon. The only change I can possibly perceive is perhaps the color - but that's easy for me to do with hue/saturation once I incorporate it into my picture. (You might have noticed I've done this with some of your other fractals in my art.)

I just love your fractals! I wish I had fractal skillz. Woot.
