I can't say this is 100% finished. Mostly because I did the whole thing without much reference at all.
And this was actually done a long time ago, hence the date...But yeah.
This had to be my favourite part of the "Sonic and Knuckles" game - when Knuckles winds up helping Sonic out, despite being electrocuted (poor guy) by Eggman (Or Robotnik, I suppose...) and the two go into the Sky Sanctuary Zone.
But what mostly inspired this was the remix of the "SSZ" by Project Chaos (I think the artist's name was Kanjika...) - he made a little MIDI-sounding file into an epic, orchestral-sounding piece. Hence, this work is named after that piece. It's amazing...
Anyhow, yeah.

Very nice storytelling elements in this one. I love this zone... Sonic 3 and Knuckles is what got me hooked on the series.

Thanks muchly. I actually got stuck on this Zone for a while... with Mecha Sonic showing up all the time.
I think this is the best game out of the 'old school' series. Seriously.

Can you get all the Emeralds, and the Super Emeralds? those shiny suckers make the game awesome. Knux's story is great, the Zones are different AND harder, and I do believe this is the only game where he gets a super form (not counting Sonic Heroes). Tails' story is great too.

I'm trying to get the Chaos Emeralds - I got the bad ending. XD I got two - or three, I forget - but I'd love to go Super.

If you get all the Emeralds while still in the Sonic 3 part of the game, then you get an extra cut scene at the start of Mushroom Hill Zone, and you can start getting the Super Emeralds. The stages are like the Chaos Emerald ones, but harder. You can get them with any character, I think... but only with the Super Emeralds can Tails go Super Tails. You can fly infinitely, and you get four supercharged attack Flickies that follow you and kick butt automatically.

I have the original Genesis (Mega Drive) system, with the lock-on cartridge and everything. It's worth it, even though it doesn't always work.
