*tribute to one of my fav bands ever*about a week ago, while listening to their haunting melodies, i was reading their story as well + i was inspired to draw this.. they first appeared sometime in 1989, as "the pumpkin fairies", till they were renamed -about a year after- "slowdive", and used that name till they were forever split, in 1995.........
this is one of my biggest -in size- detailed drawings in watercolors + markers..
but tonight i'm in such a baaad mood (which actually matches perfectly with the heavy dark clouds outside) , so even though i know i should have worked some more on this, i didn't......
that gives you no excuse though to be gentle on me..
i'll probably edit it some more.. but then again, maybe not..

Nice work! I like how you took the idea of the pumpkin and used it to make the faeries a bit darker and more ghastly to fit the mood.

nooooope.. "halloween" in greece, is somewhere in february - march.. +it's quite different than the american halloween...
no pumpkins for us.. just dressing up in funny costumes, colorful + chearful parades, teasing strangers + getting drunk..
the roots of this feast derives from the ancient orgies (??) of god Dionyssus (one of the 12 ancient greek gods of Olympus), it'd be really interesting (i think) to look it up..
now it starts about 40-50 days before easter..
