Description Driving up round Winchester hills, the light was in its golden hour. Over head some heavy rain clouds were covering up the sunlight.

I saw this scene and knew that I should setup and wait for the light. After setting up, I waited 10 minutes and was just about to give up thinking I was wrong when the sun burst through some of the storm clouds highlighting parts of the landscape.

Just after I took a few shots of this, it started raining and I had to pack up extremely quickly!

I think it was worth getting wet for though.

Man just beautiful lighting. I don't normaly ask of an artist, but what does the pic look like with out the forground? The image seem so soft and glowing from the tree line at the bottom to the top of the sky. the foregroung lighting seems more harsh an sharp. Two different images.

The image would be too small without the foreground unfortunatly. I was quite aggrivated that there was no higher vantage points to shoot from with this so that I could exlude it completly. oh well lol

yep, i would have got wet as well if i had taken that. nicely done. At first i was thinking it would be nice to see some forground elements in this shot, but after second looks, it really doesn't need it. To me it looks like the kind of composition that has all the interest and beauty with out the need for it

You appear to want some honesty here so I'll give it my best shot. I honestly don't know what I think about this.
The sky and lighting are spectacular. There is really no focal point - which is a shame. Added to that there are several distracting elements (the brightly lit buildings and the 2 "strips"- not sure what they are), I wonder whether it would have been better to wait until the midground was lit rather than the fore/background? I suppose that what I'm trying to say is that the only really interesting part is the light, not the composition. I also find the colours a little neutral - I may have warmed them up a hint but that's a little picky.

I still think it's a nice try and a great practice piece and that the light was well worth capturing. I'm hoping you might have another take on this.

i know exactly what you mean mate. I will upload the landscape version in a bit. still no strong focal point but looks better.

I was waiting for more light to hit but it started pissing and I didnt haev a chance lol

Nice job, the light seems almost like it's "from heaven" or something.

I like this. It's peaceful

My only issue is that there's no real focal point, just the sunny art near the middle. My eye kind of wanders, just following the lines. Nothing really holds my attention like in most of your other shots.

thanks. I think i prefer the landscape version I have to upload tomorrow more. Somthing just doesn't seem right with the shot now I'm looking at it again. IT doesn't seem to be too popular so far either...
I wish people would comment when they dont like it or dont fave it etc. would really help lol
