A simple concept that leaves a mark! To me it feels like I'm looking at a remnant of the War" between Heaven and Hell, or a least higher forces.
The warrior angel statue is very well made and the lighting is superb and if this was a movie poster I'd be dying to see the trailer! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="
The image really makes wonder what the statue rests upon too...makes me think...what world lies beneath?
A beautiful world or a wasteland?
Maybe the war is waging on a the bottom right now... and is this beacon maybe a powerful last resort weapon?
All that comes to mind when I view this picture.

I find this as an interesting conceptual piece, that has dark and light epitaphe(s) as the central focus. While, it is visually appealing I'd like to see more of this type of work and expanding upon in greater depth. It is a great work of photo-reality. If possible, it would be even greater perhaps, with a full load of color difference rather than the minimalist approach this author gave it. Though, what do I know I am an unworthy critique viewing something that I as of yet have been unable to create regardless of the medium chosen.
I say to you congrats. It definatly provides some great contrasting elements and illicit thoughts abound.

Thanks a lot for the critique! I try to do both kind of work. This one was minimalist like you said and the one before that was a blast of colors and effects. It all depends of how I am feeling when I make it I guess. In this particular work the idea was to make something peaceful so I went the minimalist road with the colors and effects but I very much agree with you that the work could be enhanced a lot more.
Now you make me want to revisit this work and do the complete opposite, something dark and intimidating

Well, I have no idea what I am talking about and I rarely have any idea's. For whatever reason I had a brief brilliance with what I saw.
I saw your minimalistic approach as a approachable and definitely could be enhanced. The red and blue could have directional and more identifiable as the polar position to which you identify with in a lot of your work. I'd say to increase the colored effect though, careful to apply the coloring to the clouds to sky and also to the clouds below the central figurine. This to me would be an explosion of color and leaving the statue as a central grey figure giving over to one of the polar ideals that our society in general keeps identifying with. This then would mean that your artwork is centralized as a social commentary. I believe that if you do this; your work at least will open more thought about intent, and create communication and that is the stuff of excellence.
Keeping, true to social commentary and opening your viewers eye's to your own mind by allowing a glimpse through your artwork is never easy as you have to give over a piece of yourself; while retaining the core so that your not dumping everything.
Anyways, I have no idea to what I am speaking...and hopefully, I only appear half-mad
