Description Case in point: Cathedral Terra
The crew of has to teleport on a regular basis (because of its planetary size) in order to go ANYWHERE.
Can traverse to other dimensions and/or universes in short periods of time.
Is able to transform into the Transcendent Super Spiral Dreadnought Gunmen.
Capable of both deflecting and destroying objects on a planetary scale.
Can shoot laser beams through the space-time continuum to hit targets regardless of their locality and temporality in the multiverse, being able to hit targets in the past, present, and future all at once.

Case in Point: Starship Enterprise
An over-glorified, "space-worty", tin can capable of moving at the speed of light.
(Yeah. Like that hasn't been done a million times before.)

Conclusion:
Cathedral Terra > Starship Enterprise

I think that both Enterprise and Voyager will make good shuttles for Cathedral Terra.

It's certainly impressive, but it only utilized it for enemies who were literally using the space-time axis as a hiding place.

Quite. I like how that one can't be interrupted, because it'll hit the target even before the weapon's been fired.

Though this begs the question: Why didn't they just destroy the anti-spirals when they were young with the cannons? They could have ended both Anti Spiral-Spiral wars with a single burst of cannon fire.

Simple, Lordgenome didn't have a power boost from generations of Spiral Warriors that came before him in the form of a converted sea of Spiral Power.

If you're talking about during Lordgenome's time, the Anti-Spirals inflicted "Absolute Despair" upon him so he COULDN'T do that.

I suppose, but what about Simon's time?

NewMystery356 In reply to TrueGrimReaper64 [2013-11-11 07:31:49 +0000 UTC]

The Anti-Spirals were highly elusive, having hidden their homeworld in a gap between dimensions, and the only thing that allowed him/it to be found was Nia's Ring, which acted as a beacon for the Spiral Realm Perceptual Teleportation System. Besides, even if the Cathedral Terra WAS brought along to that point, the Anti-Spiral doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would go down from a single giant spaceship's weapon like that; Simon needed a giant mecha hundreds of lightyears tall to do that.

LoneGuy121 In reply to NewMystery356 [2018-04-11 03:05:44 +0000 UTC]

And they only got it via power boosts and not their own strength.
The first power boost was that sea which stored eons of Spiral Power from those who came before Team Dai-Gurren.

Well... When collapsed, the Cathedral Terra could pose as a moon, so I suppose the Death Star might have a fighting chance, though the moment the CT gets out of range of the DD's big laser cannon, port/starboard weapons can tear the DD to shreds.

vovan1 In reply to NigelMcDivine [2014-01-05 16:17:36 +0000 UTC]

But Cathedral Terra Perceptual Teleportation system can place second portal literally anywhere, and she can travel to any point of space-time just in few seconds, required to pass portal. And Ashtanga-class Anti-Spiral dreadnoughts actually carried jammers, which was designed to disrupt Cathedral Terra Perceptual Teleportation systems by imitating Nia and her ring.

Star Trek and Gurren Lagann are both worthy of praise; they're both thoughtful, underrated works with a great meaning.
Now if it was some shallow, overrated trash like Pokemon, Twilight, or Naruto, then I'd say it'd be necesarry for some put downs.

Yeah PokΓ©mon and Naruto may be overrated, but they are still fun to play and watch, respectively. I wouldn't call it trash like Twilight. There is a reason they both have been popularΒ forΒ so long.

Comparing a mentaly stimulating series like Star Trek to a franchise as devoid of creativity as Pokemon does seem a tad insulting.

1: Nothing was wrong with that sentence. And on the off chance that something was wrong, your sentence is in the same tense, so you're just as guilty of being an idiot.
2: Good rhetoric you got their mate. *slow claps like the retard he is*

If I wanted good SciFi in the first place, I'd re-read Frankenstein or something by Michael Crichton. Not watch some mindless Star Wars rip-off. Which is funny, as Star Wars is a rip-off of Samurai films. Go figure.

Anyway, the Pokemon Anime is crap, yes, but the games are fun. And that's all that really matters. I could drop it now, but I wont. Attacking it and calling it devoid of creativity ... Well, that's certainly a stretch. The fact that the games have been able to go on so long is a testament to this. Don't ever doubt the intelligence of a child, they know when they're being ripped-off.

Poke'mon just goes on forever.
Twilight (at school, every GUY who read the series was instantly labeled as gay, no questions asked)
Naruto, the main character wears "hey-over-here-kill-me" orange, and is a big knucklehead.

P.S.
Sorry if I offended you by saying that if you like Star Trek on my Motiv Poster, but I just did it to get the point across that the Cathedral Terra is the greatest spaceship ever conceived by the human imagination.

I actually have a second motivational poster that is a testament to that.

That's perfectly alright. I'm just relieved that the person I got into an argument with this time wasn't a victim of one-track mindedness.
I really am big fan of Cathedral Terra, in fact I stumbled upon this page while trying to design some kind of sequence in which the Cathedral Terra becomes Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann.
But then if the Enterprise had never been made, then the concept of giant space ships pworably would've never been fully realised.

That's probably true. Although I never knew about that in the first place.
But hey, imagine if TTGL showed BEFORE Star Trek, everyone would have probably shit in their pants from the sheer epicness.

Impossible, because then it wouldn't have any old mecha to base anything on and thus would amount to nothing.
I mean, for GL to exist, there must be Getter Robo and a ton of other mecha shows before it

Yeah, for some reason, no one seems to have any morals anymore. I mean, the ohter day on the news, they were talking about a school handing out condams to FIVE YEAR OLDS! What kind of FIVE YEAR OLD needs COMDAMS?
It just doesn't make any sense. Of course, morals have dropped, so it does make sense.
