For those of you who've actually WATCHED Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, my words are justified.Case in point:
He pretty much acted like the living dead after Kamina died, even AFTER he'd been given that life-changing speech about "not believing in the Kamina that believed in you, but to believe in you who believes in yourself". If you don't believe me, then just look at the bags under his eyes after Episode 8.

Simon was never a whiny douche, Β he always had it in him from the beginning. Β In fact, several scenes show his inner potential, Β it was just around Kamina. Β But after Kamina died, he still kept drilling. Β Simon always thought that he required Kamina for his entire life, that Kamina was the sole source of his determination. Β But even Kamina admitted that it was SIMON who always had it in him.

Title-wise, TTGL means "Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann", though the titular mecha of the series doesn't appear until the way end. "Gurren Lagann" is the shortened name of the series, and the main mecha.

I think it's already been established that Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is simply bigger than THE universe. Just saying. He's like, what, 100,000,000,000 light years tall or something? That is BIG.

Yup. Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is 52.8 billion light years tall! That further proves that he is literally "too much" for anyone to handle! xD The scene at the final battle of lagann-hen seemed like the two super giga drills caused the spiral nemesis (with the infinity sign and all) and then UNDID it. Thats how i thought of it anyway o_O Pure epic.
