Description
A younger Johan among his regiment mates.This scene probably happens after he had to take a human life for the very first time. His first kill at war was not even an enemy soldier, but a teen peasant. He felt bad after killing him, but got embarrassed by his own feelings and tried to hide it from everyone. However, some of the other soldiers noticed something wrong in his behavior.
The dialogue might have looked like something like this:
The other guy: "Hey, what's up with you?"
Johan: "Ah, nevermind. Must have eaten something bad, that's... it".
The other guy: "Ah, this! Well, you gotta get used to it!"
Johan: "Yeah... surely. Surely I gotta..."
After that, he decided not to think too much.
FINALLY got to finish this!

Your lighting is impressive- it's difficult to get the shadows right when dealing with a flickering light source, as firelight can be! 
Your diversity is also impressive- you give each soldier their own unique look, and in turn, their looks convey the variety of their personalities- this feels realistic, natural and very human.
And props to conveying the inner conflict and regret in Johan's downcast gaze and pensive grimace.
